This Deluxe Disney Resort Is About to Lose Two Major Restaurants

If you’ve got a stay booked at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, now might be the time to start adjusting expectations—especially if dining was part of the reason you chose this hotel.

Disney World is about to hit Yacht Club guests with a frustrating one-two punch, and it starts next week.

Crew’s Cup Lounge is scheduled to close beginning February 23, and it won’t be a quick refurbishment. The lounge is expected to remain closed until around May, which wipes out one of Yacht Club’s most popular hangout spots during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

That’s already rough, but what makes this situation worse is that Crew’s Cup isn’t the only closure coming.

Once the lounge reopens, Yachtsman Steakhouse is expected to shut down next, with a projected reopening later in the summer. In other words, Yacht Club is losing two major dining locations back-to-back.

And if you’re paying deluxe resort prices, that’s not a small inconvenience.

Yacht Club is supposed to feel like a complete resort experience. It’s a hotel that people choose because it’s quiet, upscale, and has built-in dining options that feel like part of the atmosphere. Crew’s Cup in particular has always been a favorite because it gives guests a low-stress option without needing a reservation or leaving the resort area.

It’s also the kind of place guests rely on when they come back from EPCOT late at night and want something simple without dealing with more crowds.

Now, that easy option is gone until May.

The biggest issue is that guests staying at Yacht Club during this stretch may find themselves constantly leaving the resort just to get the experience they expected. Yes, there are restaurants nearby. Yes, you can walk to BoardWalk or EPCOT.

But the point of Yacht Club is convenience. And when you remove two of its most well-known dining spots, you start stripping away part of what makes this resort worth the price tag.

For guests arriving in spring or summer, this closure schedule could make their Yacht Club stay feel a lot less complete than it normally does.
