Tips For Ensuring Your Family's Health When Visiting Disney World Resort

Corona Virus Castle

Nothing puts a damper on an anticipated vacation quite like getting sick.  This article is all about how to keep your family healthy when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Employ some of these tips on your next vacation.

Get Healthy Before Your Trip

Late nights packing leading up to vacation, last minute stress of sorting out travel details and disordered eating on the road are just a few of the things that may throw off your health before your vacation. Ensure your family will stay healthy on vacation by prepping well in advance and staying mindful of sleep, eating and health habits that are key to preventing illness on vacation. Make a list two weeks before your vacation of tasks to be completed before the big day and prioritize when you will knock out each to do item. Having a prioritized list on the ready will reduce stress and prevent late nights scrambling to get it all done in the days leading up to your vacation. Start taking vitamins in the weeks leading up to your trip to give your immune system a boost.

Pack Smart

The hope is that you have an awesome vacation with no illnesses, injuries or mishaps.  The reality is there are often bumps in the road on family vacations. Being prepared for mishaps can turn big mess-ups into minor inconveniences if you have the right tools packed. Remember to pack a medical kit with medication for minor pain and stomach issues, aloe for sunburns, bandages and antibiotic ointment.  Do not forget multi vitamins and vitamin c in an effort to stay healthy.

Packing sanitizing wipes or sprays for your hotel room as well as a large pump-able hand sanitizer is a must do for staying clean and healthy. Bring several travel sized hand sanitizers that the kids can clip on park bags for easy use. Reusable water bottles will keep you healthy and cool in the parks and encourage you to keep drinking to stay hydrated in the hotel room and at the pool.

Food Storage

My family loves bringing our own snacks and drinks on vacation to save money on dining.  While brining your own lunch to the parks is a great way to save cash, be sure you to practice safe food prep. and storage techniques when assembling and transporting food. Meats, cheese and sauces on sandwiches can go bad unless kept cool so be sure to transport food in coolers and keep sandwich fixings in the fridge in your hotel room.
