Tom Holland Takes an Unexpected Break From ‘Spider-Man’

Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reportedly hit an unexpected pause after Tom Holland is believed to have suffered a “fall” on set on Friday, September 12, resulting in what British tabloid The Sun describes as a “concussion.”

The incident occurred at Leavesden Studios in Watford, though the exact circumstances and causes remain unclear.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson told The Sun: “We were called at 10.30 am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.” They added: “An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”

A woman believed to be a stunt double was also taken to the hospital.

Holland, 29, is now taking a short break from filming as a precaution. His father, Dominic, confirmed to The Sun that his son will be away “for a while.”

With Holland currently out, production on the film has been temporarily suspended, although Sony and Marvel Studios have yet to release official confirmation.

Sources tell The Sun that a meeting is scheduled for today, Monday, September 22, to determine next steps. The film’s July 2026 release date has not been reported as affected.
