Top 3 Toys at Disney World That are Worth the Money

One thing that is guaranteed at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks is a visit–intentional or otherwise–to at least one of the plethora of gift shops. Disney merchandise is arguably one of the most diverse assortments of single-brand-named products in the world, then add on top of that the Star Wars and Marvel gear.

It can be overwhelming to think about which items to pick, and while it really depends upon each Disney fan’s personal preference, some toys stand out.

1. Disney Model Train Sets

Whether it is the monorail or the steam train, the Disney World model train sets are arguably the toys with the best overall value found on Disney World Property.

Disney also has a partnership with Lionel Trains to create a plethora of Disney-themed train options for any collection. Whether you or your kids like trains in general or not, these toys have longevity and utility that is arguably unmatched by any other Disney souvenir.

Plus, who doesn’t like trains? I personally still have Disney World Monorail trains that are almost 20 years old and are still in great shape. There is also a collectibility element with these toys as only certain variations of the models are available at a time.

2. Lightsabers

Ever since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, lightsabers jumped to the top of the list.

While the quick-and-easy assembly stand in the gift shop of Star Tours is cool, the FX lightsaber construction offered at Savi’s Workshop is incredible. Not only is the saber quality extremely high, and it provides a great wall decoration in any home or office as well as a fun dueling toy, the immersive experience that comes with it is what puts this toy into the top three.

It is a moment when the movies come alive, and you are able to build a lightsaber custom to you, just like the Jedis that came before you. If you or anyone in your family is a Star Wars fan, consider making a reservation.

3. Mickey and Minnie Dolls

They say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and I can think of no better way to describe choosing a Mickey Mouse plush doll as your take-home toy from Disney World.

No matter how old you are or how old the person you have in mind, a plush doll of a favorite classic Disney character is always a good choice and offers timeless comfort and magic that you can go back to over and over again that is more than worth the investment.

Yes, Disney Parks merchandise is expensive, but there are some items that come with a memorable experience and would make a magical addition to any household.
