Independence Day celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort took a dark turn Saturday evening when law enforcement was called to the Magic Kingdom Park area twice in less than an hour to respond to separate battery incidents.
The First Call at 8:46 p.m.

At 8:46 p.m. on July 4, the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a battery incident in the Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Contemporary Resort area. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime logged the dispatch on X (formerly known as Twitter):

Whether the incident occurred inside Magic Kingdom Park itself, at Disney's Contemporary Resort, or along the walkway connecting the two hasn't been confirmed.
Less Than an Hour Later, It Happened Again

At 9:34 p.m. — 48 minutes after the first call — the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a second battery report from the same general area. @WDWActiveCrime also shared the second dispatch on X:

The same location limitations apply to the second incident — the exact site within the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary Resort footprint remains unconfirmed. Whether the two calls were related or involved entirely different parties is unknown.
Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff's Office has issued any public statement about either incident. Further details may become available if criminal charges are filed in connection with either call.
No Impact on Operations

Despite the back-to-back battery calls on one of the busiest nights of the year at Magic Kingdom Park, no operational delays or disruptions have been reported at the park or at Disney's Contemporary Resort following the Saturday evening responses.
