Universal Islands of Adventure has another lengthy closure underway, and this one will remain in effect well beyond the end of 2026.
Universal has officially closed the Jurassic Park restrooms for a major refurbishment. While a restroom project may not carry the same weight as a roller coaster or attraction closure, the location makes this one particularly important for guests.
The Jurassic Park restrooms are expected to remain unavailable until early 2027, meaning visitors will need to rely on other facilities around the park for several months.
And this isn't the only major refurbishment currently affecting Jurassic Park.
Jurassic Park Restrooms Close Until 2027
The Jurassic Park restrooms have now officially closed, beginning what Universal has described as a major refurbishment.
Universal currently expects the facilities to remain closed until early 2027.
That's a substantial amount of downtime for restrooms, especially in a busy area of Islands of Adventure. Jurassic Park draws large numbers of guests throughout the day thanks to attractions such as Jurassic World VelociCoaster, while the land also serves as a major pathway between other sections of the park.
Guests who need an alternative won't have to walk too far.
The closest available restrooms are near Pizza Predattoria. Guests can also find restrooms in Toon Lagoon, The Lost Continent and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, although those options require a longer walk depending on where they are in Jurassic Park.
Families traveling with younger children may especially want to keep the closure in mind while planning their day.
Jurassic Park River Adventure Is Still Closed
The restroom refurbishment comes while another major part of Jurassic Park remains unavailable.
Jurassic Park River Adventure has been closed since January 5, 2026, for an extensive refurbishment.
The classic water attraction is currently scheduled to reopen on November 20, 2026. If that date holds, the ride will have spent more than 10 months unavailable to guests.
Jurassic Park River Adventure has remained a major part of Islands of Adventure since the park opened in 1999. The attraction sends guests into Jurassic Park before their journey takes a dangerous turn, eventually leading to an encounter with a Tyrannosaurus rex and the ride's massive final drop.
Its extended closure has left a noticeable hole in the land's attraction lineup throughout 2026.
Fortunately, the November reopening date means guests visiting during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons could once again have the opportunity to ride.
The restroom refurbishment will continue considerably longer.
Even after Jurassic Park River Adventure returns, guests should expect the regular Jurassic Park restrooms to remain unavailable into early 2027.
For now, Jurassic Park remains open, but visitors should prepare for multiple refurbishment projects as Universal continues work throughout the land.
