Treasures of Poseidon has been demolished at Universal Islands of Adventure.
Poseidon's Fury came down in August. The gift shop went in September. The Lost Continent is disappearing one building at a time.
Some context.
The shop actually closed earlier this year, but construction walls did not go up until early September, right after Poseidon's Fury was leveled completely.
And in the new photos there is a detail worth catching. From where that gift shop used to sit, you can now see straight across the Islands of Adventure lagoon to Marvel Super Hero Island.
Those buildings sat between the walkway and the water. That view did not exist before. So they cleared it all the way to the waterfront, which means whatever Universal is cooking up has lagoon frontage.

Forget the Rubble, Look at the Restaurant
Here is the thing nobody is leading with.
Mythos Restaurant will permanently close next year.
And Universal is converting Thunder Falls Terrace, which is over in Jurassic Park, into a full-service restaurant to replace it.
Sit with that for a second.
Universal is spending real money rebuilding a signature dining experience in a completely different land. Nobody does that for a temporary closure. You do not relocate your restaurant if the original one is reopening in two years.
Demolition tells you the buildings are down. The Thunder Falls project tells you they are never going back up.
That is your confirmation right there.
What Has Universal Announced? Nothing.
No replacement land. No concept art. No name. No timeline. Not even confirmation that something is definitely going in that hole.
Everything past the demolition is people guessing.
The Pokémon Thing
The rumor that will not die points to a Pokémon land.
Reported over and over. Confirmed by Universal exactly never.
The logic tracks. Universal has been buying up globally massive franchises for years, and Pokémon is about as massive as it gets.
Small correction people keep fumbling, though. Pokémon is not straight Nintendo. It runs through The Pokémon Company, which Nintendo co-owns with Game Freak and Creatures.
Which makes the whole thing more interesting, honestly. Super Nintendo World is sitting over at Epic Universe. Dropping Pokémon at Islands of Adventure splits the Nintendo-connected stuff across two separate parks. Either that is a clever way to sell multi-park tickets, or it is a weird split. Depends how you squint.
The Harry Potter Thing Has Receipts
The other big theory is a Wizarding World expansion, and this one is not fan fiction.
Hogsmeade already ate part of the original Lost Continent footprint back in 2010.
Potter has taken this land once. The geography is right there.
Counterpoint: Universal has kept expanding the Wizarding World over at Epic Universe, so a third Potter area in Orlando is a very different swing than the second one was.
Again, neither is confirmed.
Oh, and the Entrance Is Under Construction Too
You hit walls now before you even get going.
Barriers and scrim are up around parts of Island Market and Export and the Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe. Both stores are still open while crews work behind them. One wall says “Please pardon our dust.”
Universal has not explained the project or how long it runs. Looks like work on the existing shops rather than a new entrance, but it means construction is the first thing you see.
What Is Actually Being Erased
The Lost Continent was the one Islands of Adventure land built on nothing.
Marvel, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, Seuss Landing, Hogsmeade. Every single one licensed from somewhere. Lost Continent got invented in 1999 by the people designing the park, and that was the whole charm of it.
Whatever replaces it will be franchise based. That is just how it works now.
Which is not automatically bad. A great Pokémon land would absolutely pack that park. But the thing being bulldozed was genuinely one of one, and nobody is building another.
The Only Confirmed Facts
Poseidon's Fury, demolished. Treasures of Poseidon, demolished. Mythos, closing next year. Thunder Falls Terrace, becoming the replacement.
Everything else is people standing in front of an empty lot, guessing.
