Halloween Horror Nights 35 has not opened its gates, but one of the easiest ways to avoid spending the evening in standby lines has already disappeared.
Universal Orlando Resort’s ticketing system currently lists standard R.I.P. Tour packages as sold out. The first Premium Scream Night, scheduled for August 27, is also unavailable, leaving October 19 as the remaining date for that limited-capacity experience at the time of publication.
Those sellouts would matter in any year. In 2026, however, they arrive after Universal eliminated another option repeat visitors previously used to combine multiple event nights with expedited access.
Halloween Horror Nights 35 R.I.P. Tours Sell Out
Universal’s standard R.I.P. Tour is the event’s guided VIP-style experience. It includes Priority VIP entry to as many as 10 haunted houses while guests are with their guide, subject to the tour itinerary and event hours.
The package also includes a pre-tour reception, reserved seating at select shows, valet parking for one vehicle, a commemorative credential, and Universal Express Unlimited access at participating rides during normal event operating hours. That ride benefit excludes the haunted houses outside the guided tour.
Separate Halloween Horror Nights admission is required for the same date.
Universal continues to advertise Private R.I.P. Tours, which must be booked by phone, and a new five-house R.I.P. Tour covering one of two predetermined house lineups. Availability for those alternatives can differ from the now-sold-out standard tour.
The distinction is important: Halloween Horror Nights 35 itself has not sold out, and Universal still sells single-night admission, multi-night Fear Passes, and several separately priced extras.
What has narrowed is the menu of premium choices.
The First Premium Scream Night Is Gone
Premium Scream Night returns twice in 2026, on August 27 and October 19. Universal describes these separately ticketed evenings as offering shorter haunted-house waits than regular event nights, select all-you-care-to-enjoy food and nonalcoholic beverages, complimentary self-parking, and permission to wear costumes within the event’s policy.
The August 27 event is now sold out. October 19 remains the alternative for guests seeking the same format, subject to inventory.
The early sellout is notable because Universal expanded Premium Scream Night to two dates for HHN 35. Even with that expanded schedule, the first opportunity disappeared weeks before the regular event begins.
Premium Scream Night is not simply another date on the HHN calendar. August 27 occurs one night before the earliest opening in Halloween Horror Nights Orlando history, giving purchasers the opportunity to experience the houses before the regular run starts August 28.
Express Pass Still Exists—but the Seasonal Bundle Does Not
The R.I.P. Tour sellout becomes more consequential when placed beside Universal’s other major 2026 ticketing change.
Universal has discontinued all Fear Pass products bundled with Express. The eliminated products include:
- Rush of Fear Pass with Express
- Frequent Fear Pass with Express
- Frequent Fear Plus Pass with Express
- Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass with Express
In previous years, those bundles gave eligible passholders both recurring admission and Express access across multiple included nights. For dedicated HHN visitors, the appeal was straightforward: one purchase reduced the amount of repeated ticket planning required throughout the season.
Universal said it discontinued the products while evaluating its offerings “in an effort to provide the best Halloween Horror Nights experience for all guests.” The company has not released a more detailed public explanation or said whether the products could return.
Regular multi-night admission remains available. Universal released four non-Express options ranging from Rush of Fear, covering the first 18 event nights, to Ultimate Frequent Fear, covering all 49 regular HHN dates. Those multi-night passes also increased in price for 2026.
Halloween Horror Nights Express has not been eliminated. Guests can still purchase a separate, date-specific Express Pass that provides one-time access to a shorter line at all 10 haunted houses and participating attractions. Event admission is not included, and prices and availability vary by night.
What Guests Should Do Before Their Trip
Guests who already know they want Express should check availability for their specific date rather than assuming they can add it after arriving. A multi-night Fear Pass does not reserve Express access, and buying Express separately for several visits changes the cost considerably.
Travelers interested in an R.I.P. experience can investigate the five-house version or call Universal about a Private R.I.P. Tour. Neither is an exact replacement for the standard package, so guests should compare the included houses, group format, itinerary, and price before booking.
Universal could release more inventory, but it has not promised to do so. The safest reading of the current ticketing picture is narrower and more useful: admission to HHN 35 remains available, but several of the event’s most convenient premium experiences no longer do.
The houses may be built around uncertainty. The ticket strategy should not be.
