Universal Orlando Closes Down Water Park for Extended Time

Universal Orlando Resort is one of the premier vacation destinations in Florida, offering three unique parks filled with incredible attractions. Universal Studios Florida is a haven for movie lovers, with rides and shows that bring cinematic worlds to life.

Guests can battle alongside Autobots on Transformers: The Ride 3D or laugh out loud with the Minions at Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.

Islands of Adventure is a thrill-seeker’s dream. Home to world-class coasters like VelociCoaster and The Incredible Hulk Coaster, it’s also a place where fantasy fans can explore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Whether soaring through the Forbidden Forest on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or grabbing a butterbeer in Hogsmeade, it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Volcano Bay rounds out the resort with its tropical setting and mix of exciting water slides and relaxing pools. The innovative TapuTapu wearable makes it easy for guests to reserve ride times, avoiding long waits and ensuring a smooth day of fun.

However, this week, Volcano Bay will remain closed until December 6 due to cooler weather and pre-scheduled maintenance. When Central Florida temperatures drop below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, water parks often close temporarily to ensure guest comfort.

While Volcano Bay takes a break, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure remain open and are fully decked out for the holidays. Seasonal events, festive treats, and dazzling decorations add an extra layer of magic to the parks. From Grinchmas festivities to the magical holiday charm of Hogwarts, there’s no shortage of ways to make your trip memorable.

Volcano Bay will reopen soon, ready to welcome guests back to its tropical oasis. In the meantime, visitors can still experience the joy and excitement of the other parks, making Universal Orlando a top destination any time of year.

At this time, Disney has not announced the status of Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park for the entire week. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park remains closed for refurbishment.
