Universal Orlando Drops 5 HUGE Updates Coming in 2026

Universal Orlando Resort is hinting at enormous shifts for 2026, and fans are already eager to see what’s coming. The resort has been dropping updates piece by piece, building anticipation for what could become one of its most transformative years. Even without the full picture, the early announcements give guests plenty to look forward to—and the scope of these changes stretches across nearly every corner of the resort.

To understand how Universal is preparing for such a significant year, it is helpful to consider the destination as a whole. Universal Orlando Resort has evolved into a four-park powerhouse, with each park offering distinct attractions and unique storytelling styles. Together, they form a foundation strong enough to support the major changes that will arrive next year.

Exploring Universal’s Four-Park Collection

Universal Studios Florida keeps movie lovers at the center of the action, blending classic attractions with newer hits. It’s the park many guests think of first when they picture Universal Orlando Resort.

Islands of Adventure sits right beside it, offering a more explorative style of theme park experience. Guests move from island to island, each one filled with details, thrills, and larger-than-life environments.

Volcano Bay brings a water park twist to the resort experience. It combines laid-back tropical energy with standout slides, all set against the towering Krakatau volcano.

Epic Universe joins the lineup as the newest expansion, redefining what guests can expect from a Universal theme park. With new lands and advanced attractions, the resort receives a major boost going into 2026.

Seasonal Mug Deal Launches Early Momentum

One of the first confirmed updates involves Universal’s holiday refillable mug promotion. The offer allows guests to “buy 2 and get 1 refillable mug for FREE” through January 14, 2026. The mugs can be refilled at Coca-Cola Freestyle machines throughout the resort, with refills limited to one pour every ten minutes and only available on the day of purchase. It’s a simple perk, but one that guests appreciate—especially during busy holiday visits.

Rock the Universe Delivers Another Big Year

Universal’s Rock the Universe event returns January 23 and 24, bringing two nights of Christian music, worship, and time in the parks. The lineup features well-known artists such as Forrest Frank, Switchfoot, Lecrae, and Phil Wickham. A Sunday service on January 25 caps off the weekend. Full weekend tickets start at $173.99 and include admission to the park for three days. Single-night event tickets begin at $94.99, and Universal is offering discounted group rates and special packages for youth ministries.

Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration returns from February 7 through April 4. Parades, live concerts, and global food booths fill the parks throughout the event window. Guests can also book the Float Ride and Dine Experience, which pairs a three-course meal at select restaurants with the opportunity to ride a parade float that night. The package costs $94.99 per guest and remains a staple offering during Mardi Gras season.
