Another piece of Universal Orlando history is about to disappear, and visitors hoping to experience it one last time are running out of opportunities.
Universal Studios Florida has spent decades replacing older attractions with newer experiences. From major roller coasters to elaborate themed environments, the park looks considerably different from when it first welcomed visitors in 1990.

Still, some original experiences have managed to remain part of the park's lineup.
Unfortunately, one of those longtime favorites is officially approaching its final performances.
The upcoming closure will end more than three decades of live entertainment and leave another noticeable gap in Universal Studios Florida's original attraction lineup.
Universal Sets Final Date for Animal Actors on Location!
Animal Actors on Location! will officially close permanently on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Universal has scheduled the show's final performances for November 2, giving visitors a limited window to see the attraction before it disappears.
The show has been part of Universal Studios Florida's history since the park opened in 1990.
For 36 years, Animal Actors has introduced audiences to trained animals that demonstrate how animal performers work in movies and television.
The production features dogs, cats, birds, and other animals performing various routines alongside their trainers.
Rather than relying on expensive special effects or high-speed thrills, Animal Actors delivers a more traditional entertainment experience.
The show also incorporates comedy and audience participation, allowing guests to enjoy a different type of attraction during their Universal visit.
That combination has made it particularly appealing to families with younger children and visitors who prefer experiences without intense movement.
However, the show's connection to Universal's history goes beyond its lengthy run in Florida.
A similar concept debuted at Universal Studios Hollywood during the 1970s, making animal performance demonstrations part of Universal's theme park entertainment long before the Orlando resort opened.
Now, that legacy is preparing to end at Universal Studios Florida.
Universal's Original Attractions Are Becoming Increasingly Rare
When Universal Studios Florida opened, the park focused heavily on the world of filmmaking.
Attractions frequently introduced visitors to recognizable movies while demonstrating the technology, practical effects, and production techniques used to bring Hollywood stories to life.
Animal Actors fit perfectly into that original approach.
However, Universal's priorities have changed significantly over the decades.
Kongfrontation, JAWS, Back to the Future: The Ride, and Earthquake: The Big One are among the many original attractions that have permanently disappeared.

Universal also retired other recognizable experiences, including Twister…Ride It Out, Terminator 2: 3-D, and Shrek 4-D.
Some closures allowed Universal to introduce major additions, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Others created opportunities for newer entertainment concepts and updated attractions.
Although those investments have helped reshape the park, they have also reduced the number of experiences that connect today's Universal Studios Florida to its earliest years.
With Animal Actors preparing to close, E.T. Adventure will become an even more recognizable survivor from the park's original lineup.
The family-friendly dark ride has operated since 1990 and continues welcoming guests despite the many changes surrounding it.
What Happens to Animal Actors Next?
Universal has not confirmed what will replace Animal Actors on Location! once the attraction permanently closes.
The company has also not provided a detailed explanation for its decision to retire the show.
That uncertainty leaves visitors wondering whether Universal will introduce another live performance, transform the theater into a different attraction, or eventually redevelop the surrounding area.
For now, none of those possibilities has been officially announced.
However, the closure arrives as Universal Orlando continues investing in several major projects.
Universal Studios Florida is preparing for the 2027 opening of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, while Islands of Adventure is experiencing significant changes throughout The Lost Continent.
Those developments demonstrate that Universal's transformation is far from finished.
Still, there is no confirmed connection between those projects and the Animal Actors closure.

Guests hoping to enjoy the attraction one final time should review Universal's published entertainment schedule, as live showtimes can vary.
After November 2, Animal Actors will officially become another retired Universal Studios Florida experience.
For visitors who have enjoyed the show over the past 36 years, its departure marks the end of a familiar tradition.
And with Universal continuing to reshape its oldest Florida theme park, the number of surviving opening-day experiences is becoming smaller.
