Universal Orlando Quietly Adds Free Day to Popular Ticket Package

Universal Orlando has slipped a new perk into one of its best-known ticket deals, and Florida residents are already taking notice.

Without any big announcement or fanfare, Universal quietly upgraded its 1-Day + 2nd Day Free ticket option, essentially handing guests a whole extra day at the parks at no additional cost.

The offer is pretty simple on the surface, but what makes it appealing is how flexible it is. Guests can choose between two slightly different versions of the promo, and both revolve around the ability to explore Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure over two full days. For anyone who likes to park hop or move at a relaxed pace, that alone is enough reason to pay attention.

The first version of the promo goes even further by giving guests a dedicated day at Universal Volcano Bay. Instead of packing a water park visit into a theme park day, guests get a full, separate day to unwind. Prices begin at $188 for adults and $184 for children, with variations depending on the date. It’s worth noting that Volcano Bay has select closure days, so guests should double-check the schedule before locking in their plans.

For guests who prefer to stick to the main parks, the second version keeps things nice and clean: two days of park-to-park access between Studios and Islands. This option starts at $159 for adults and $155 for children and still includes favorites like the Hogwarts Express, which connects Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

Universal does outline a few requirements. Tickets must be purchased online—no walk-up sales at the gate—and every adult must present a valid Florida Resident photo ID. The process is easy, but it’s something to keep in mind before heading to the parks.

A water park scene reminiscent of Volcano Bay features a large artificial mountain with slides and waterfalls. People are swimming and wading in a pool under a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds. Lush greenery surrounds the area, evoking the tropical charm found at Typhoon Lagoon.

Of course, there’s one major detail that Florida residents should know before getting too excited. Epic Universe is not included in this offer. Universal’s highly anticipated new theme park is operated under a separate ticketing system, and guests will need to purchase a different ticket if they want to visit.

Even with that limitation, the value of this deal is undeniable. Getting a bonus day for free gives guests the chance to enjoy more attractions, revisit favorites, or simply slow down and take a more relaxed approach to their visit. With park hopping included, it’s also one of the best ways to get the full Wizarding World experience without paying full price for multiple days.

Universal may not have made a huge announcement about the upgrade, but locals have plenty of reasons to take advantage of it while it lasts.
