Universal Orlando Resort has no shortage of new experiences. Between Epic Universe and ongoing changes throughout the destination, the company has spent years focused on what comes next.
At the same time, Universal has started looking back.
Across the resort, guests are finding more tributes to the movies that helped launch Universal into theme park history. While newer franchises still dominate many headlines, several classic films have quietly returned to the spotlight.
For fans who remember the early days of Universal Studios Florida, the trend has been impossible to miss.
Nostalgia Never Really Went Away
Many longtime visitors still remember attractions like Back to the Future: The Ride and Jaws as defining parts of the Universal experience.
Both attractions became icons during their time at Universal Studios Florida. They also represented the resort's original vision of placing guests inside their favorite movies.
Eventually, change arrived. Back to the Future: The Ride closed in 2007 and was replaced by The Simpsons Ride. Jaws followed in 2012 when Universal transformed the area into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Those decisions helped fuel years of growth, but they never erased fan appreciation for the attractions that came before them.
Today, nostalgia for both properties remains stronger than ever.

A Parade Built Around Classic Films
Universal's renewed focus on its movie legacy became especially visible with the return of the Universal Mega Movie Parade.
The parade officially launched its summer run on June 5, 2026, after a brief soft-opening period and immediately put some of Universal's most recognizable films back in front of guests.
Floats and performers celebrate Back to the Future (1985), Jurassic Park (1993), Ghostbusters (1984), and Jaws (1975), among other franchises.
For many visitors, the parade feels like a celebration of Universal's identity as a movie studio first and a theme park destination second.
The enthusiastic response from guests suggests there is still a strong audience for these classic properties.

The Legacy Store Expands the Celebration
The nostalgia continues at CityWalk.
On April 24, 2026, the Universal Legacy Store reopened in its original location after taking over the former Epic Universe Preview Center space.
The store offers merchandise inspired by some of Universal's most beloved films, including Back to the Future, Jaws, and Universal Classic Monsters.
Its reopening gives fans a permanent destination dedicated to Universal's history and creates another reminder that these older franchises remain an important part of the company's brand.
For many guests, the store has quickly become a must-visit stop.

Jaws Is Making the Biggest Splash
While several classic films are receiving attention, Jaws has become the centerpiece of Universal's summer offerings.
The resort's JAWS-themed experiences began on May 23 and run through August 10, 2026. Guests can enjoy themed food, merchandise, and photo opportunities inspired by the famous shark thriller.
Universal also brought the celebration to CityWalk's Cinemark theater, where screenings of Jaws (1975) are scheduled on select dates from June 20 through August 26.
The extended celebration demonstrates the film's lasting popularity and shows that guests remain eager to engage with the franchise decades after its release.

Could Classic Films Play a Bigger Role?
When viewed together, these initiatives reveal a larger pattern.
Universal is investing in its future while simultaneously finding new ways to celebrate its past. The company appears increasingly willing to showcase the films that helped build its reputation.
That could become particularly interesting as Universal Studios Florida prepares for future changes. Fast & Furious: Supercharged is expected to close permanently in 2027, leaving another major area available for redevelopment.
Although Universal has not announced what will replace it, the growing popularity of classic movie offerings has fueled plenty of discussion among fans.
Universal's Retro Revival Continues
Universal Orlando Resort may be entering a new era, but it has not forgotten the movies that helped get it there.
The Universal Mega Movie Parade, the return of the Universal Legacy Store, and the resort-wide celebration of Jaws all point toward a stronger appreciation for Universal's cinematic history.
Whether that trend eventually leads to a new attraction remains unknown. What is clear is that audiences still love these classic franchises, and Universal is giving them more opportunities than ever to reconnect with them.
