One thing that’s already making waves at Epic Universe is its merchandise. Universal has certainly stepped up its game, offering fans exclusive themed items that they can only find within the park. From apparel to collectibles, these pieces are quickly becoming coveted keepsakes for visitors looking to take a piece of the park home with them.

However, as much as merchandise has been one of the most exciting aspects of Epic Universe, it seems that one of its standout items has become so popular that Universal has had to take action.

According to X (formerly Twitter) user Wallin Ballin, Universal made the decision to temporarily remove Captain Cacao plushies from the shelves, fearing that demand would outstrip supply before the Annual Passholder previews officially begin.

BREAKING: Rumors are swirling that Captain Cacao plushies have been taken OFF the shelves until AP previews begin, out of fear Universal will not be able to keep up with demand and run out of them completely!!! 👀👀👀

Fans quickly reacted, with many confirming that they had visited Epic Universe and found the plush toy missing from the shelves. Social media exploded with frustration, as visitors shared how disappointed they were not to find the plush they’d been hoping to purchase.

Many expressed their hope that Universal would restock the shelves before the grand opening of the park, so that everyone who wanted to take home Captain Cacao could do so.

It’s likely that Universal is already in the process of ordering more plush toys to ensure there will be plenty for everyone when Epic Universe officially opens its doors on May 22. With such overwhelming demand, it’s clear that Captain Cacao is going to be one of the park’s hottest collectibles.
