Universal Studios Florida looks different at the front gate just as Halloween Horror Nights 35 arrives. New scrim covering the park’s entrance archway displays an updated Universal Studios Florida logo, while an HHN 35 medallion is also visible, according to images shared August 27 by X user RileyJoesph.
The change is notable because the entrance has already been undergoing a months-long refurbishment. Inside the Magic previously documented construction and scaffolding around the Universal Studios Florida archway and earlier work changing the landmark’s appearance. What Universal has not done, however, is announce that the logo shown on the scrim will permanently replace the physical signage on the completed archway.
That distinction matters. The new presentation may preview a permanent branding change, but for now, the safest description is exactly what guests can see: a new logo design on temporary construction covering while work continues behind it.
Universal Studios Florida’s Entrance Is Already Getting a Major Refresh
The archway project did not appear overnight. Construction activity has been visible for weeks, and Inside the Magic previously reported that the 36-year-old entrance arches were undergoing major changes. Another update tracked the changing entrance arch and its longtime color palette.
Universal Studios Florida opened in 1990, making the entrance one of the resort’s longest-standing visual touchpoints. Although the gateway has evolved over the decades, its warm yellow, beige, and sandstone-like palette became familiar to generations of visitors.
That makes the logo now printed across the scrim more consequential than ordinary construction graphics. If the branding carries over to the finished structure, the entrance could emerge with both a new color palette and a different graphic identity.
But Universal Orlando has not publicly confirmed that outcome. Calling the scrim proof of a permanent logo replacement would go beyond the available evidence.
The New Universal Studios Florida Logo Raises a Bigger Branding Question
The timing fits a broader period of change for Universal. In 2023, the company renamed Universal Parks & Resorts as Universal Destinations & Experiences, saying the identity better reflected its expanding entertainment offerings and future growth.
Universal Orlando has expanded substantially since then. Epic Universe officially opened in May 2025, and Inside the Magic has tracked how Universal Orlando’s rapid expansion is changing the resort alongside updates at its older parks.
That context makes the new Universal Studios Florida logo worth watching. Theme-park entrances are branding statements as much as infrastructure; they are among the first park-specific images guests see and photograph.
Still, there is no official announcement tying this scrim logo to the 2023 corporate rebrand, nor has Universal said the completed archway will retain it. For purists worried that the familiar entrance identity is being permanently retired, the evidence currently supports speculation—not confirmation.
HHN 35 Is Taking Over the Gateway at the Same Time
There is another major element now competing for attention: Halloween Horror Nights 35. The HHN medallion is appearing at the entrance as Universal prepares for its milestone horror season, adding event branding to an area already dominated by refurbishment work.

Guests arriving for HHN should separate what is visible from what is confirmed operationally. Scrim, scaffolding, and barriers are present around the project, but Universal’s official HHN page continues to list Universal Studios Florida as the event location and does not identify the archway refurbishment as changing the published event dates.

If the finished archway emerges with that logo, the refurbishment will represent a more substantial identity change than a fresh coat of paint. If it does not, the scrim may simply serve as temporary branding during construction and HHN 35 preparations.
Either way, guests arriving at Universal Studios Florida are seeing a gateway in transition.
