The Universal Orlando Resort confirmed today that its Volcano Bay water park would remain closed for the day on December 10.

Universal Orlando Resort took to their official Twitter account to confirm this closure, stating that while Volcano Bay is closed, both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure would continue to operate regularly. Volcano Bay debuted in 2017 as an innovative addition to the Universal Orlando Resort, offering an entirely new way for guests to enjoy the Universal experience.

This tropical-themed water park is known for its thrilling attractions and stunning aesthetic, set against the backdrop of the towering Krakatau volcano. The park boasts a variety of unique water slides and experiences designed for both relaxation and adrenaline-pumping excitement. Visitors can indulge in everything from tranquil lazy rivers to heart-stopping free-fall slides.

The temporary closure of Volcano Bay undoubtedly affects many guests who look forward to its attractions. While it may be disappointing for water park enthusiasts, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure remain open, providing plenty of alternative activities for visitors. These parks feature a wide range of rides and attractions, including iconic experiences from beloved franchises.

For those planning trips during this closure period, it is advisable to keep an eye on Universal’s official channels for updates regarding Volcano Bay’s reopening. Additional activities, dining options, and entertainment experiences within the other two parks can serve as excellent alternatives until the water park is back in action.

Exciting developments are on the horizon for Universal Orlando Resort as they prepare for the introduction of Epic Universe, the resort’s third theme park. This expansion promises to bring a host of new attractions and experiences anchored by globally recognized franchises. Fans can expect elements inspired by How to Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter, and Super Mario, among others.

The opening date for Epic Universe is set for May 22, 2025, making it a significant upcoming milestone for Universal Orlando. As the resort continues to grow, it will enhance the overall experience for visitors, offering even more excitement and new adventures for families and thrill-seekers alike. The anticipation surrounding this new park indicates a bright future for Universal Orlando Resort, even as they navigate temporary closures like that of Volcano Bay.
