New merchandise continues to roll out both in the theme parks and on shopDisney in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, and one of the newest items to debut is this beautiful “it’s a small world” musical figure.
This musical figure takes the style of “it’s a small world’ and adds it to a musical piece of art you can easily purchase from home (and it may make a great gift for the holiday season if you are doing some shopping on shopDisney!)
The figure was designed by artist Costa Alavezos, and it captures the spirit of “it’s a small world” through the doll’s smiling faces and brightly colored outfits. The fully sculpted figures are positioned atop a musical base that can be wound up with a key to play, you guessed it, “it’s a small world.” The whole piece of art is then set upon a base featuring the words “Walt Disney World 50 – The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in gold ink.
The piece was created in celebration of the fact that “it’s a small world” was an opening day attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort having opened at the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971, and it has remained a favorite among Guests visiting the park from all over the world to this day. The figure is priced at $125, however if you are looking to splurge on a unique piece of Disney art, this would make a great collector’s piece.
Additional merchandise recently released in celebration of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” on shopDisney has included brand new 50th anniversary Dooney & Bourke bags, sparkly new Mickey ear hats and Minnie ear headbands, and so much more with the Vault collection, spirit jerseys, and gifts and souvenirs for the whole family.
With new merchandise for the 50th anniversary continuing to come out, we will be back with updates from the Walt Disney World Resort and shopDisney with new items for the celebration as they are released.
