One time honored holiday tradition at the Walt Disney World Resort is an initiative undertaken by Disney chefs in support of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. For the past 20 years, chefs around the Walt Disney World Resort have each taking turns spending Thanksgiving preparing high quality dinners for the local non-profit organization.
The tradition continued for Thanksgiving 2021 with chefs from Disney’s Hollywood Studios preparing Thanksgiving dinner and bringing their culinary skills and some added holiday cheer to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.
Alongside the group of Disney’s Hollywood Studios chefs, Disney VoluntEARS joined the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida in serving meals to the community this Thanksgiving. The Disney VoluntEARS program has supported local communities for the past 40 years, and is a major part of the Cast Member experience at the Walt Disney World Resort supporting events like this one as well as local Pride month celebrations, fundraisers and donation drives, mentoring, and more.
In addition to serving up food for local Central Florida communities and Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort from around the world this holiday season, Disney’s chefs have shared one of their recipes for you to prepare at your own holiday table this year.
If you are looking for a new dessert to add to the mix this holiday season, give the Disney chef’s recipe for apple pie a try!
And if you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this week, or later on during the holiday season, remember to pack your patience and be kind to Cast Members. Disney Cast Members work very hard to create magic for Guests during the holidays and it is the most hectic time of year for anyone working in the parks. A little bit of thanks and appreciation can go a long way in making a Cast Member’s day!
