Another emergency response has been reported at Walt Disney World, this time at one of its most frequently booked resort hotels.

Early Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, the social media account Walt Disney World: Active Calls (@WDWActiveCrime), which tracks emergency dispatch activity in the Central Florida theme park area, posted an update claiming that fire personnel were responding to a possible fire at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
The alert, posted at 8:19 a.m., read:
“🔥 Fire Alert – 11/11/25 8:19 AM🔥: Fire at 📍: Pop Century Resort #WaltDisneyWorld #disney”
No official information has yet been released by Walt Disney World Resort or the Orange County Fire Rescue Department confirming the extent of the incident, the location within the resort, or whether any guests were impacted.

While details remain scarce, the report has generated considerable discussion online, as the Pop Century Resort has already been the focus of multiple emergency calls in recent weeks — including one connected to the death of a female guest just over a week ago.
Emergency Activity at One of Disney’s Largest Hotels

Disney’s Pop Century Resort, located near Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, is a massive complex featuring ten brightly themed buildings, three pools, and thousands of guest rooms celebrating pop culture from the 1950s to the 1990s. It is one of Disney’s most affordable “Value” resorts and among the busiest on property year-round.
Given the scale of the property, even relatively minor safety incidents can prompt multiple emergency vehicles and significant social media speculation. Guests on property Tuesday morning reported seeing flashing lights in the distance but did not report large-scale evacuations.
Historically, Disney has a strict internal safety response system that often results in rapid but quiet intervention — meaning many small fires or medical emergencies are contained without public disruption. Still, the timing of this alert could not be worse for the resort, which has been the subject of multiple tragic headlines in the past several weeks.
A Guest Death at Pop Century Earlier This Month

Just days ago, authorities confirmed that a woman in her 40s died at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in the early hours of November 2, 2025. According to law enforcement, there were no signs of foul play, and the death appeared to be from natural causes. The woman’s name has not been publicly released.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the report after emergency radio channels identified the initial call as a “person down” before it was later updated to a “dead person” response.
While deaths at large resort properties are statistically rare, this incident marked the fourth reported guest fatality at a Central Florida Disney resort in less than a month.
A Disturbing Series of Recent Disney Resort Incidents
The death at Pop Century was the latest in a concerning pattern of emergency responses across Walt Disney World Resort hotels in recent weeks.
On October 14, first responders were called to Disney’s Contemporary Resort after reports of a Monorail-related incident circulated online. Authorities later confirmed that a 31-year-old woman, Summer Equitz, died by suicide after falling from a balcony.
Just a week later, on October 21, a man in his 60s was found unresponsive at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds, where officials later confirmed he had died of natural causes following a medical episode.
Then, on October 23, guests reported police tape and a white tent set up near the pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Authorities later identified the deceased as 28-year-old Matthew Cohn, who also died by suicide after falling from a balcony.
And less than a week after the Pop Century incident, another woman was found dead at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office once again stating that there were no signs of foul play.
Taken together, these tragedies have sparked widespread concern across the Disney community and among frequent visitors, with many calling the past several weeks one of the most troubling periods in recent memory at the resort.
Another Emergency Near EPCOT
The reported Pop Century fire comes less than 24 hours after another alert from WDW Active Calls about a “suspicious hazard” near the EPCOT Resort area.
That alert, which went out around 3:00 p.m. on November 10, indicated that law enforcement and emergency response crews were dispatched to a location between Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, both of which border EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance.
Though details were not made public, it appeared to be treated as a precautionary response rather than a major threat. There have been no follow-up reports suggesting any injuries or ongoing danger.
The “suspicious hazard” adds yet another layer to what has been an unusually active few weeks for first responders at Walt Disney World.
Disney Has Not Commented
As of Tuesday afternoon, Walt Disney World Resort has not released a statement addressing the possible fire or any of the other recent emergency reports.
The company is known for its tightly controlled communications approach, particularly regarding incidents that may involve medical emergencies, safety hazards, or guest fatalities. In most cases, details come from law enforcement, local fire departments, or eyewitnesses rather than Disney itself.
Guests staying at Pop Century on Tuesday morning have reported business as usual — with no visible evacuation efforts, pool closures, or transportation disruptions. However, Disney has in the past temporarily relocated guests to nearby resorts such as Disney’s Art of Animation or Caribbean Beach Resort when safety concerns arose in specific buildings.
A Growing Sense of Concern
The recent wave of incidents — spanning several of Disney’s most popular resort hotels — has prompted unease among fans and travelers, especially given the time of year. November typically marks the start of the holiday rush at Walt Disney World, with thousands of families arriving to take part in Christmas and winter festivities across the parks and resorts.
For many, the news has cast a somber shadow over what is usually one of the resort’s most joyful seasons. Between the tragedies, the “suspicious hazard,” and now a possible fire, guests are left wondering what’s next — and when Walt Disney World will address the ongoing situation publicly.
Until more is confirmed, guests planning to stay at Pop Century or other Disney resorts are encouraged to stay alert but calm, follow Cast Member instructions if needed, and monitor official updates from local authorities rather than social media speculation.
As the investigation into Tuesday morning’s alert continues, fans can only hope that this latest call proves to be minor — and that the resort’s string of troubling incidents soon comes to an end.
