Halloween may still be months away, but Walt Disney World is already getting into the spirit.
In a move that surprises fewer Disney veterans with each passing year, the resort has released its first Halloween-themed merchandise item of 2026. The debut comes in mid-June, long before pumpkins decorate Main Street, U.S.A. and well ahead of the start of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

The first item to kick off Disney's Halloween season is a collectible Minnie Mouse figure that puts one of Disney's most recognizable characters in a festive witch costume.
The collectible is part of the Disney Signature Collectibles collection and carries a $39.99 price tag. It features Minnie dressed in purple and orange Halloween attire while carrying a pumpkin candy bucket. The display also includes a decorated lamp post, autumn wreath, and Mickey-shaped jack-o'-lantern that help create a classic Disney Halloween scene.

Guests found the figure at Riverside Depot in Disney's Animal Kingdom, making it the first known Halloween merchandise release of the season at Walt Disney World.
For casual visitors, the appearance of Halloween merchandise this early might feel unusual.
After all, Disney is still preparing for Independence Day festivities, summer crowds remain in full swing, and temperatures regularly climb into the 90s. Yet Disney fans have become accustomed to seeing the company move from one season to the next at lightning speed.
The resort has increasingly introduced holiday merchandise earlier each year, often giving collectors access to seasonal products months before the actual celebration takes place.

That trend appears to be continuing in 2026.
Many collectors actively watch for the first Halloween item because it often predicts when larger merchandise collections will begin arriving. Disney frequently follows early releases with expanded product lines that include clothing, mugs, ornaments, home décor, plush toys, and event-specific collectibles.
As a result, some fans view this Minnie figure as the first domino to fall before a much larger Halloween rollout begins.
The release also comes as anticipation starts building for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Although the event won't begin for some time, Disney traditionally uses the summer months to build excitement through announcements, merchandise releases, and special previews.
That's why even a single collectible can attract attention among dedicated Disney followers.
The figure itself captures many of the elements guests associate with Disney Halloween celebrations. From the pumpkins and fall decorations to Minnie's colorful costume, the design feels tailor-made for fans who count down to spooky season every year.

Whether guests decide to purchase the collectible or simply admire it on store shelves, its arrival sends a clear message.
Halloween season has officially made its first appearance at Walt Disney World.
And somehow, summer hasn't even reached July yet.
