We’ve Ranked the Attractions at EPCOT, and Here They Are!

11. Disney and PIXAR Short Film Festival

This 18-minute presentation takes place in the Magic Eye Theater, and Guests will appreciate it very much, especially if they are fans of the magic of animation. Before heading to the auditorium, Guests are led in a pre-show room. A short video is shown with host John Lasseter—Chief Creative Officer of PIXAR and Disney Animation Studios. Lasseter gives Guests a brief snapshot of the processes it takes to create an animated picture. Then Guests are invited to take a seat in the auditorium. I’ll admit—the first time I enjoyed this attraction, I thought it was simply a viewing of some Disney/PIXAR shorts. I was pleasantly surprised to find that rather than this being a simple screening of three animated shorts, it is a 4D experience that immerses Guests in the animation of three Disney and PIXAR shorts. Theater effects are used (the floor even moves!) to bring these animated shorts to vibrant life! FastPass+ service is offered, but you probably won’t need one for this attraction because the auditorium seats a very large group of people.

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
