We’ve Ranked the Attractions at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and Here They Are!

11. It’s Tough to Be a Bug

This interactive 3D and special effects show takes place at the base of the Tree of Life in the Tree of Life Repertory Theater. It’s hosted by Flik the ant from Disney/PIXAR’s A Bug’s Life. It was the first attraction at Disney World to open to the public before the theatrical release of the film that inspired it—six months before! As Guests walk into the theater, they are asked to put on a pair of 3D glasses, and they are further asked not to “sting, buzz or pollenate.” Yes, Guests are invited to become bugs and see the world through the eyes of insects for the duration of the show. The presentation is a clever way of showing Guests how bugs of different kinds use survival techniques to stay alive on planet Earth. Hold your nose because that stink bug really stinks, and you might even be sprayed by a bug or two! You’ll leave with a better understanding of the life of a bug and how very tough it is to be one! FastPass+ service is available but usually not necessary, especially if you enjoy the attraction later in the day.

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
