What's New And What's Coming To Disney Springs In Disney World

Disney Springs

It’s almost too easy to forget Disney Springs – the hustling, bustling, electrifying entertainment district that makes up a pretty big part of Walt Disney World Resort. Sure, it’s not one of the four theme parks or two water parks or any of the dozens of Disney Resort Hotels, but that’s the beauty of Disney Springs – it’s completely unique and one of a kind!

And just because it’s not a theme park, that doesn’t mean there aren’t incredible experiences here waiting for you at every turn. Like all the parks, it’s ever-changing and is always on the radar to host awesome new adventures, whether it’s shopping, sports, characters or ground-breaking virtual reality experiences. So here are some of the top new and soon-to-be-new features…

1. Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt – Disney Springs

From November 8 through January 6 2019 you can embark on Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt – a festive scavenger hunt that will see you helping Disney’s so-cute-and-fluffy alien find his lost Christmas list. Grab a Holiday Gift Hunt booklet with a map, clues and stickers from one of 18 locations dotted throughout Disney Springs to begin your hunt, from Star Wars Galactic Outpost to Rainforest Café and everywhere in between. Once you’ve completed your tasks, you’ll need to head to a “redemption center” for your reward. Needless to say, this mini adventure makes for some great “ohana” fun!

2. Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail – Marketplace

Until January 6 2019 you can also discover the magical Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail. Each of the 27 holiday trees in Marketplace are inspired by a Disney character or theme, such as Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Mary Poppins, Star Wars and Toy Story, so be sure to grab selfies or pictures with each one. As you go you’ll enjoy accompanying festivities, too, such as music, snow and more, and if you’re also planning on undertaking Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt, well there might just be a little clue for it in the Mickey & Minnie tree…

3. Meet Santa Claus at Santa’s Chalet - Marketplace

Yes – as you’ve probably already guessed, Christmas has landed at Disney Springs. So while you’re on your festive stroll through this dazzling district, why not continue the ho-ho-ho-holiday celebrations by visiting Santa Claus at Marketplace’s Christmas Tree Trail cottage. He’s available November 8 through December 24 (yes, you know exactly where he’s got to dash off to on that particular day). Why not add this Christmassy encounter to your list – and do “check it twice” so that you don’t miss him! Don’t forget to consider a Memory Maker package and Disney PhotoPass for this experience.
