Wonderful Experiences for Burned Out Moms at Disney World Resort

Senses Spa

We all know motherhood is a full-time job. From packing lunches to helping with homework (on top of juggling a career), every mother out there deserves a vacation. Unfortunately, magical Walt Disney World trips don’t always provide an escape. Due to the nature of Disney vacations, these same exhausted moms plan out their itineraries months in advance. And once the vacation arrives, these ladies are responsible for keeping the family on said schedule. (Not to mention, someone has to make sure park bags are packed, kids get put down for naps, etc.) The responsibilities of a mother simply can’t be left at home. So, if you’re traveling with a mother and her offspring, consider treating her to at least one or all of the following experiences. And if you’re that burnt-out mom, consider showing this list to your husband or grown children. After all, Disney World is here to revitalize guests of all ages and walks of life. (Devoted moms included!)

Good Old-Fashioned Spa Day

This may be an obvious choice, but it’s a staple for a reason. Treat your mom to a day at the Senses – Disney Spa and Salon, and we guarantee she’ll unwind like never before. With locations in both The Grand Floridian Resort and The Saratoga Springs Resort, this world-class spa features gorgeous amenities and an extensive list of treatments. From facials to mani/pedis to indulgent massages – Senses is here to delight every well…. “sense”! (Special combination packages are available.) Afterward, your mom can relax in the lounge or loosen up her muscles in the whirlpool. The first-class service and calming aesthetics will help mom vacate her worries. Give her that vacation from the vacation.

A Shopping Spree

Let’s be honest. Moms spend a lot of time browsing gift shops that are stuffed with costumes, plush toys, and Mickey-shaped items. Encourage your mom to shop at stores that interest her. Formally a lukewarm place for shopping, Disney Springs is now home to countless designer stores. Their most popular selections include, but are not limited to Kate Spade New York, Anthropologie, Lily Pulitzer, and Pandora Jewelry. Encourage her to splurge on some comfy Sanuks or that Dooney & Burke purse she’s been eyeing. And most importantly of all, give her time to explore everything Disney Springs has to offer.

High Tea for Your Queen

For a place that is known for princesses and castles, there must be a spot to enjoy an elegant tea. And there is! The afternoon tea at The Grand Floridian’s Garden Tea room is a lovely way to spend a golden afternoon. Much like the hotel itself, this experience is like taking a trip to a more well-mannered and proper time. Located within the grand lobby, the feminine surroundings will make your mom feel like royalty. Watch her enjoy the live music as she feasts on dainty sandwiches and artisanal pastries. And best of all, this tea occurs every day from noon to 4:00 p.m. All you have to do is make a reservation to remind your mom that she’s a queen in your eyes.
