A sign that vanished from the world's largest Disney Store nearly a year ago has finally come back. Walt Disney World Resort never said a word about either its disappearance or its return.
Gone Since July 2025

Last summer, the marquee sign and surrounding entrance structure on the West Side of World of Disney at Disney Springs quietly disappeared. The multicolored block letters spelling “World of” and the golden cursive “Disney” were pulled down in July 2025, replaced in the interim by canvas banners and window decals. The swap made the West Side entrance noticeably harder to locate after dark, when the original illuminated signage would typically guide guests to the store.
Walt Disney World Resort offered no explanation for the removal and did not indicate when — or whether — a permanent replacement would go up.
The Sign Is Back

As of April 8, the answer arrived without announcement. According to WDWNT, a brand-new light-up sign appeared on the West Side entrance of World of Disney, restoring the store's most recognizable exterior feature after nearly nine months without it. A photo shared by the outlet shows the replacement looking virtually identical to the original, with the same multicolored block lettering and the same golden Disney script.
Canvas banners were removed from the building exterior following the installation, though a pair of window cling decals remained in place at the time of reporting. Those will likely come down when Disney cast members rotate in seasonal displays.

Why the original sign was removed in the first place remains unconfirmed. Given that its replacement is a like-for-like replica, the most plausible explanation is that the old sign suffered from wear, damage, or an electrical issue. Still, Walt Disney World Resort has not addressed the matter publicly.
