Would Walt Disney Recognize the Current Magic Kingdom?  7 Things To Consider

1.  Main Street, USA

I know Walt Disney would immediately recognize this replica of Main Street and Town Square of his childhood home of Fort Collins, Colorado.  He actually showed his builders and architects photos of the Main Street of Fort Collins, and many of the features of the town were incorporated in Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Main Street, USA.  The whole look of Town Square, the Main Street Emporium, all the shops and restaurants of Main Street would please him immensely.  There would be a few changes he might wonder about, like the “Starbucks” logo over the Main Street Bakery, and absence of the Main Street Cinema and the Penny Arcade, which were replaced by retail shops.  But, on the whole, he would be very pleased with this familiar Main Street, USA.

Cecilia

I am a working mother of four adult children, 2 granddogs, and one grandcat. I have been a Disney fanatic since 1959, when my parents took my sister and I on a journey across the country to Disneyland. Needless to say, we were thrilled, and this became our vacation destination for the next 10 years. Later, when Walt Disney World was opened, we travelled to Florida and discovered a whole new Disney experience, and WDW became our new vacation destination. Now, our extended family members are all Disney Fanatics and always ready to talk about anything Disney.
