Die-hard Disney fanatics know the Parks aren’t just for the kids—they’re arguably geared more toward the Disney Adults who frequent them. While it’s one thing to enjoy Disney as an adult, it’s another to venture there solo. Before taking the plunge to book her solo soiree in Disney, user u/stephanne423 took to Reddit to see whether or not the trip would be worth it. The answer? A resounding yes.

The Redditor’s original post read:

I (38F) have always loved Disney and haven’t been in about 15 years at this point. Single, no kids. A couple of friends may be interested in going with me, but most aren’t. Would going solo be worth it? I do concerts by myself all the time, so I feel like it should be similar.

Nearly every comment on the post ranged from an enthusiastic “ONE HUNDRED PERCENT” from u/Savings_Spell6563 to more detailed responses like this one from u/enchantix:

It was amazing. I could do all of the rides I wanted. You can go in the single rider line if they have one. You don’t have to wait for kids to go to the bathroom. You can walk as fast as you want. No kids falling asleep in strollers or having to do rides you don’t care about because they’re the only thing your kid can go on. You can eat at the restaurants that have more adult friendly fare.

Honestly, it was amazing. It makes me never want to go with kids ever again (if I ever have them). I rode roller coasters and ate Dole whip and then rode more roller coasters. Just wear good shoes.

The Perks of Hitting the Parks Solo

The consensus around freedom, flexibility, and accessibility a Disney World solo trip offers echoed through the thread. Grabbing a churro, browsing on Main Street, U.S.A., and chatting up Disney fans on the go are all instant benefits as a solo traveler in Disney.

Another perk? You could expedite long lines in the single-rider lane for the following rides: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (Disney’s Hollywood Studios), Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run (Hollywood Studios), Test Track (EPCOT), and Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom). If your go-to rides aren’t on that list, you’ll still have a much easier time getting on the Lightning Lane single than you would with a group.

If you’re the one being dragged through the queues for all the rides when you would rather sip cocktails around EPCOT’s World Showcase, you can finally do that in peace while traveling solo.

Eat, drink, ride the rides (or don’t), and explore parts of the Parks your kiddos or partners weren’t fans of. Whether you head to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, you’ll get to soak in the scenery with a new lens that traveling with a group doesn’t offer.

With all the solo trip wisdom in the thread, u/stephanne423 added this update:

Edit: less than 24 hours later, I booked the trip. I’ll be there in October. Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!
