Top 5 Disney Resort Pools
Top 5 Disney Resort Pools

After long strolls in the theme parks and sweating all day in the scorching Florida weather and blistering sunlight, you’re probably thinking endlessly about all of the ways that you are going to cool down. One of the best ways to do this is to grab your bathing suit and head on over to the pool with your family. While every Disney resort offers unique pool themed amenities with lifeguards on duty and cast members hosting pool party fun for the little ones every single day, there are a few that stand out and are a must-do when staying on Disney property. The weather is beautiful in sunny Florida, and even on cold winter days, the resort pools are always heated, so you can hang ten 365 days a year. Here are the top five Disney Resort pools to get your splash on!

5. Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort offers lush landscape along with a tropical utopia that gives guests the feeling they are right in the center of the Caribbean. In between the six villages of guest rooms, you will find a massive zero entry pool complete with water cannons and two great water slides. The pool at the Caribbean beach offers Spanish architecture to resemble the old time forts, which is unique and adds flavor to your splashing experience. The pool is accompanied by two spas as well as a shipwreck play area complete with 3 minor slides and a barrel of water that will cascade over the little ones every few minutes. If you are really in the island mood, check out the white sandy beach also located near the beautiful pool. After all the fun, don’t forget to relax in the hammocks located around the sandy beaches. If you’re looking for a tropical, relaxing, and historical atmosphere, the Caribbean Beach is ideal for you!

4. Boardwalk Inn Resort

The Boardwalk Inn Resort is by far one of my favorite places to stay when visiting the happiest place on earth. Its charming Atlantic City architecture coupled with a Coney Island style Boardwalk makes for an amazing night out with your family. While the resort is quaint and amiable, the pool is another experience. As you approach the Luna Park swimming area, you will be immersed into a turn of the century carnival with water splashing elephant décor and a huge 200 foot slide with the architecture of a classic wooden roller coaster. A huge clown mural also sits next to the slide. The end of the slide goes through the clown mural so you will plunge into the pool out of the clown’s mouth! Beautiful elephant statutes will squirt water out of their trunks to keep you cool, and you can also head over to the kiddie pool to have fun with the little ones. Feeling hungry, or want a refreshing drink? You can always head on over to the pool bar for quick snacks and refreshments. The Boardwalk Inn is a great place to relax and splash around!

3. Wilderness Lodge

The beauty of the Wilderness Lodge Resort is enough of a reason for their pool to make it to the top five. As you splash around, you will be exposed to the beautiful scenery of the majestic lodge that represents National Parks along with nature trails and pine trees that surround the pool. There are two pools at the Wilderness Lodge complete with a creek that begins in the resort lobby and ends directly into the pool. Its cascading rocks are stunning and the replica of the American northwest is breathtaking. There is a pool bar for snacks and drinks and a water slide for all ages. Behind the pool, you will find Bay Lake, which offers a slew of recreational water activities and a white sand beach that is perfect to absorb some vitamin D from the sunny rays. You can’t go wrong enjoying the pool at the Wilderness Lodge!

2. Art of Animation

Disney’s Art of Animation is unlike any other resort of it’s kind. There are larger than life statues of the most beloved Disney characters of all time, and the theme and attention to detail of each story book/movie based resort building is jaw dropping and impeccable. The vibrant colors in the art and sculptures and it’s family sized suites allow for some great family fun. Disney’s Art of Animation has three themed pools to hang ten, and it also holds the record for the largest resort pool on Walt Disney World property. The cozy cone pool is in the center of the Disney/Pixar Cars patio. It’s great for taking a dip in while enjoying Mater and Lightning McQueen statues along with bungalows made out of gigantic cones to relax and catch some shade. The Flippin’ fins pool is located in the Little Mermaid patio area and is complete with an under the sea theme. Be sure to listen closely to Sebastian and his orchestra as they sing along near the pool. You’ll be surrounded by all of the characters from the film as you splish and splash. The largest, and most unique pool however, is the Big Blue Pool located right outside the lobby and in the patio area of the Finding Nemo section. Here you will listen to familiar Disney tunes underwater! Yes, you read right, underwater! Not only does this zero entry pool have underwater speakers, but it’s colossal Crush, Nemo, Ray, and jellyfish structures along with vibrant blue colors will immerse you into the film again and again. How big is this pool? Just 308,527 gallons! There is also a water play area for the little ones complete with spray jets, and gushing water and splash pad fun. The Art of Animation also offers a pool bar for refreshment and snacks. Your little ones will absolutely love the Art of Animation pools!
