10 Experiences That Are Worth The Extra Money At Disney World

California Grill

When my husband and I decided that we wanted to have our honeymoon in Walt Disney World, we decided that we didn’t want to spare any expenses. Even though the two of us have visited the theme parks a number of times, we always ended up doing the same activities, and eating at the same restaurants. While we enjoy our Disney World traditions, we wanted our honeymoon to be something different and full of unique and exciting experiences that we ordinarily wouldn’t have indulged in. Here are 10 Experiences That Are Worth the Extra Money at Disney World

1. Dining at the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Sure, this dinner is a little pricey, but it’s one I believe is wholly worth the money. First off, Disney’s Contemporary Resort already stands in a league of its own, however once you step foot into the California Grill, you’re going to realize how good your decision to dine there was!. Not only is the food out of this world (I still have dreams about it), but you walk into a room that is surrounded by windows overlooking all of Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Outside of the breathtaking views, is the opportunity to bring your receipt back before the fireworks start and walk out onto their observation deck. The music heard down in Magic Kingdom can be heard on the observation deck and you’ll get an unparalleled view of the beautiful fireworks taking place at the park. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience you must have.

2. Resort Hopping

Resort hopping is one of the great ways to spend an afternoon and take in the beauty of all the different resorts Disney World has to offer. But that’s not what I mean by resort hopping. Spending a week at one of Disney’s luxury hotels is expensive, however my husband and I have started opting to spend one night at a luxury hotel before moving to one of the economy ones. When you think about it, all the Disney World resorts are unique in their own fun and exciting way, but you’re hardly spending any time in your room aside from sleeping. On travel day, we'll opt to stay in one of the luxury hotels, take in the sights, enjoy the pool, grab a bite to eat and unwind in the lap of luxury. It’s a great way to scratch an itch while still being something that’s fiscally doable.

3. Dinner at Victoria & Albert’s

So, for the ultimate splurge, spend about $600 for the two of you to have a unique, top-of-the-line, 10-course meal in a romantic, closed off dining room located inside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. When you walk into Victoria and Albert’s, you are taken back by how formal and quiet it is. The food comes out in waves and you need about three to four hours to enjoy your dining experience. All the food is prepared on site and is so decadent that there’s probably a better word for it. They even customized our menus to wish us congratulations on our marriage, before sending me off with a rose at the end of the night (and my husband with the check!). This is, especially perfect, if you are looking to propose in Disney World! We even witnessed a proposal during dinner.

4. Opt for a Luxurious Massage

If you’re looking for an opportunity to truly relax and unwind, look no further than Senses Spa at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. You can choose from either a 60 or 80 minute massage and add on any special amenities that will enhance your spa experience. When you first go back, they will have you get changed, slip into a luxurious robe, unwind with fruit-infused water, snacks and a massage chair before bringing you back for your appointment. Afterward, you’re treated to coffee or wine and you can spend as much time in their sauna or whirlpool as you’d like. The bill is expensive, but you’ll feel like a brand new woman (or man) afterward!
