Two Disney Resorts Opened the Same Day as The Magic Kingdom.

During the opening of Disney World in 1971 two Disney resorts opened simultaneously.  Disney’s Polynesian Village and The Contemporary Resorts welcomed guests on the same day The Magic Kingdom opened.  Disney was the first theme park to ever simultaneously open resorts and a theme park.
