5 Newest Dining Experiences at Walt Disney World Resort

Boathouse Restaurant

From the day Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971, it has been a work in progress and it’s definitely had its share of changes. Disney has some huge changes in store for the next few years. Here’s a look at the top 5!

5. The Boathouse

The biggest change of them all is the transformation of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. The whole area is being revamped and new restaurants are being added. The first one to open was The Boathouse. It sits right along the water and is a true masterpiece. Food here is on the pricier side, but it’s an experience all in itself.

4. Morimoto Asia

Morimoto Asia, also located in the newly renovated Disney Springs, is a great adults’ night out restaurant. It’s sophisticated, yet modern in style. The food is upscale, serving dishes like Black Pepper Steak and sushi rolls. This palette-pleasing menu is sure to impress the adventurous eaters in your family.

3. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

Does that name sound familiar? Well, maybe that’s because it’s the name of the adventurous pilot of Indiana Jones. This bar is like nothing you’ve ever seen, I guarantee it. The attention to detail is stunning. You’ll probably notice something new each time you visit. Try a fun tropical drink such as, the Cool-headed Monkey, followed by some light appetizers, like the Rolling Boulders Sliders or Dr. Elsa’s She-deviled Eggs. This one of a kind bar is also located in Disney Springs, just steps away from The Boathouse.

But just recently Disney announced that they would now be open for brunch. Guests pay one standard fee and receive a pastry basket for the table to share, an alcoholic drink (or non-alcoholic for children), your choice of appetizer, your choice of entrée, and a trio of desserts. Besides the state of the art food the chefs at Narcoossee’s offer, you also get incredible views of the water and surrounding areas.

1. Jungle Cruise Restaurant

For long time Disney fans, this is probably the most exciting of the list. The Jungle Cruise ride in Magic Kingdom will forever tug at the heartstrings of Disney lovers everywhere and now there is a restaurant set to be built in Magic Kingdom with the Jungle Cruise as inspiration. Luckily, this restaurant is set to open in late 2015.

Like Walt once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Walt Disney World will be a forever-changing place and we can’t wait to see what else is in store in the near future!

About Meghann McFadden

Writing has always been my passion. I have had an interest in writing ever since I was young. Similarly, I have always loved Disney. There is not a day that goes by that I'm not reading or watching something about Disney. I am currently finishing up my bachelor’s degree and working as well. I live right outside of Chicago, but visit Walt Disney World Resort several times a year.
