Top 10 Things You’ll Love About Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The name of this resort says it all, it’s grand. It’s one of the most expensive resorts on Disney property, but it’s also one of the most beautiful. It has a lot to offer from dining to park transportation, this resort has it all. Here are 10 things we know you’re going to love about Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

10. Turn Down Service

Need I say more? When you’re paying a little bit more, you’ll be receiving a little bit more luxuries than other resorts. It will definitely make you feel like royalty.

9. On-site Spa

Senses, a full-service spa, is located right at the Grand Floridian Resort. Whether it’s just a quick manicure you’re looking for, or whether you’re looking for a whole day away from the kids complete with a full body massage and facial, you can find it here!

8. Villas and Regular Rooms

One of the great things about Disney’s Grand Floridian is that it offers both regular rooms and vacation club villas (which are also available to non dvc members). The regular rooms are beautiful, but the villas are suitable for large parties who want the convenience of a full kitchen.

7. Great Pools

The pools at the Grand Floridian are wonderful. The resort has many pools, but the main pool is the real star. It’s located directly in between the resort and the villas. The pool is zero entry, just like a beach, complete with a water slide and pool bar. Relaxation at its finest!

6. Boat Rentals and Cruises

If you are looking for something fun to do on a sunny afternoon at Disney, you can try renting a boat. They offer boats anywhere from mini motorized boats for two to pontoon boats that seat up to ten. You can also book specialized cruises that leave right from the resort.

5. View of Fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant

Another great thing about the Grand Floridian is that it’s located right on the lagoon, which means you can see Magic Kingdom from the resort or even from your room if you have a theme park view. So make sure you set aside time to catch Magic Kingdom’s firework show, Wishes, or the Electrical Water Pageant on the lagoon.

4. Gasparilla Grill

Gasparilla Grill is the Grand Floridian’s quick-service restaurant. But there are a few things that make it different than other quick-service restaurants. For one, it’s open 24 hours. So no matter what time you get hungry, you can grab something at any time. Two, they bring your food to you. Even though it’s a quick service, you pick your seat and they’ll carry your food out to you. And last, it has really great food, flatbreads, Cuban sandwiches; everything on the menu is delicious.

3. On-Site Dining Options

Besides quick service, the Grand Floridian is home to some of the best table service restaurants in all of Disney World. Narcoossee’s, 1900 Park Fare, Victoria and Albert’s, just to name a few.

2. The Location

The location of the Grand Floridian is top notch. You are one monorail stop away from Magic Kingdom and three monorail stops away from the Ticket and Transportation Center, where you can catch a monorail to Epcot. If you book a room with a theme park view, you can even see Cinderella Castle from your balcony.

1. The Grounds

The Grand Floridian has some of the most beautiful grounds in all of Disney World. The Victorian style décor both inside the resort and out is absolutely stunning. All the grounds on Disney property are kept up flawlessly, but there’s just something special about the Grand Floridian’s that make this resort one of a kind.

Writing has always been my passion. I have had an interest in writing ever since I was young. Similarly, I have always loved Disney. There is not a day that goes by that I'm not reading or watching something about Disney. I am currently finishing up my bachelor’s degree and working as well. I live right outside of Chicago, but visit Walt Disney World Resort several times a year.
