There are many restaurants that I think get overlooked because of their proximity to “bigger and better” restaurants. Kona Café, in my opinion, is one of them. It’s a fairly small, mid-priced restaurant located inside Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Also located right next to Ohana, a very popular dining location. The great thing about dining at a “less popular” restaurant is that it’s not always crowed and reservations aren’t hard to get. But besides that, there are loads of things you’ll love about dining here. And here are 5 of them!
5. Atmosphere
The atmosphere at Kona Café really reflects the overall feel of the Polynesian Resort. It’s open and airy, casual, but not too casual. You still get cloth napkins! Overall, the restaurant is a fun, gently themed dining option, nothing too over-the-top.
4. Sushi
Kona Café is known for many delicious menu items and one of them is their sushi. Sushi is served during both lunch and dinner times. They have a good amount of different sushi options, in different price ranges as well. Even the most adventurous sushi eaters are sure to be satisfied here!

3. Tonga Toast
Tonga Toast, also known as, banana-filled French toast rolled in cinnamon and served with strawberry sauce. It’s the perfect way to start a fun-filled day at the parks or a relaxing day at the pool! It’s sure to fill you up and leave you coming back for more!
2. Sticky Wings
These wings are so delicious and sticky that they are served with warm towels for cleaning your hands! People rave about them and once you taste them, you’ll see why. They’re perfect for sharing or get them as your meal! Either way, you will love them!
1. Warm Hawaiian Bread with Macadamia Nut Butter
When you visit during dinner hours, you get this lovely, warm, fresh bread. It’s Hawaiian bread, but the butter that is served with it is quite possibly even better. It’s macadamia nut butter, complete with actual pieces of macadamia nuts. Be careful though, it’s very, very addicting!
Kona Café is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch or a nice, low-key dinner. It’s also the perfect place to try if you can’t get reservations anywhere else. It definitely won’t be a compromise. If Asian type cuisine is something you like, then this place is a must do! Even if it’s not quite your style, give it a try! You may find something you like!
