6 Must Dos in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland

Ariel's Castle

When you think of Disney World, your mind will conjure images of the Magic Kingdom. And when thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland is by far the largest area of the park and the land that is the most quintessential Disney. There is much to see and do in Fantasyland, but here are the six things you must do on your next trip to Fantasyland!

6 – Spend Some Time Exploring Storybook Circus – if you are arriving in Fantasyland via the Walt Disney World Railroad, the train station is located in this sub-area of Fantasyland. You’ll definitely want to spend some time looking around the area. You can find two great attractions: Dumbo’s Flying Elephants and the Barnstormer are both here and will be favorites of any small member of your party. Guests will also find Pete’s Silly Sideshow where you can meet some of your classic Disney characters. However, our favorite part of Storybook Circus is Big Top Souvenirs – this gift shop has a lot for guests to choose from between souvenirs and snacks!!

5 – Meet and Greet with a Character – Fantasyland is home to many famous citizens – you can find Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. Guests can also find many of the princesses – Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Anna, and Elsa. Those dining at Be Our Guest can meet the Beast and at various times throughout the day, you may be able to meet Peter Pan, Alice, the Mad Hatter, and Gaston. During specialty events, even more Fantasyland residents come out to greet guests. Meeting a Disney character in the heart of Fantasyland is not an experience anyone will soon forget!

4 – Ride a Classic Attraction – many of the classic attractions of Disney World are situated in Fantasyland. Riding one of these attractions can be an easy way to discover the Disney magic, especially if it is your first trip, or a way of re-discovering that magic if you’ve been before. Guests can choose between classics such as: Peter Pan’s Flight, Mad Tea Party, Dumbo’s Flying Elephants, and it’s a small world. Any of these attractions are great choices for time spent in Fantasyland.

3 – Discover a New Favorite Attraction – since it is such a popular destination at the Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland received an expansion adding space and attractions, known at “New Fantasyland.” With this new addition, three new attractions now call Fantasyland home. Guests will definitely want to take some time to experience at least one of them! Thrill-seekers may want to ride the Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train. Smaller kids may appreciate Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid. Guests looking for a truly unique experience will definitely enjoy Enchanted Tales with Belle – an experience where Belle invites guests to become part of her story!

2 – Grab Some Food – Fantasyland is home to a lot of great food choices – guests can sit down and enjoy a meal at Be Our Guest or at Cinderella’s Royal Table. People looking to grab something and continue having their fun have a myriad of choices at Pinnochio’s Village Haus, Friar’s Nook, Storybook Treats, Chesire Café, Prince Eric’s Village Market and Gaston’s Tavern. Our favorite of all of these choices is found at Friar’s Nook where guests can find macaroni and cheese topped with pot roast. Simply delicious!

1 – Watch Wishes! – most visitors to the Magic Kingdom will try and find a spot on Main Street or in the Hub to watch the nightly fireworks show, but Fantasyland offers some great views of the fireworks with the added benefit of not having the crowds blocking your view or trying to elbow in for a better view. The next time you’re visiting Magic Kingdom at night, definitely give this fireworks location a try!

Fantasyland is a great place for adults and kids to spend time when at the Magic Kingdom. There are plenty of options in Fantasyland – from rides, attractions, food, shops, and characters. A family can easily spend a half-day conquering everything Fantasyland has to offer. What is your favorite thing to do in Fantasyland?
