10 Things You May Be Missing at the Magic Kingdom

Cinderella Castle and Balloons

The Magic Kingdom is home to so many things that are classic Disney that it is easy to overlook some of the smaller, less popular attractions and experiences that call the Magic Kingdom home. When you’re at the Magic Kingdom next time, be sure to check out these ten things that you may be missing!

10 – Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom – this interactive game allows guests to interact with various portals throughout the Magic Kingdom to save it from the forces of evil villains. Guests who wish to participate in this game need to pick up their map and playing cards from either the Fire Station in the Town Square or at a booth in Liberty Square. We love this game because you can play as much or as little as you like and you get to discover some lesser known areas of the park!

9 – The Chapeau – this store is also located in the Town Square area of the park on your right-hand side as you walk into the Magic Kingdom. Guests who are looking to purchase any kind of Mickey ears will find them here – you can also have your ears personalized to remember a special occasion. Guests seeing the old-fashioned telephone on the wall can pick up the receiver and listen in on the party line and hear some of the conversations!

8 – Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor – this attraction in Tomorrowland allows guests to enter the world of Monstropolis as they attempt to harvest humor from humans to be able to power their world. We enjoy stopping in to this attraction whenever we are in Tomorrowland. The attraction is air-conditioned, allows you to sit down and rest and relax, and it never has much of a wait, so it is easy to fit into any touring plan.

7 – Pete’s Silly Sideshow – this character greeting experience is located in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland. Guests who visit will be able to meet with Daisy and Minnie or Goofy and Donald. We were surprised the first time we visited here because it is somewhat hidden and there was not much of line to meet any of the characters! Definitely a must do!

6 – Tom Sawyer Island – located in Frontierland, Tom Sawyer Island allows guests to explore an island. You can explore Fort Langhorn, see amazing views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, or just relax on a rocking chair and watch guests walk through Liberty Square. We ignored it for a long time because you had to take a pull boat over to the island, but when we went over for the first time, we had a blast exploring everything there is to do over there!

5 – Liberty Belle Riverboat – located in Liberty Square, the Liberty Belle Riverboat takes guests on a twenty minute voyage around the Rivers of America and offers amazing views of Frontierland, Tom Sawyer Island, as well as the Haunted Mansion. There are also areas to explore on the boat as well!

4 – Sleepy Hollow – we love this counter service restaurant located in Liberty Square because of the delicious breakfast option that they offer – a waffle covered with Nutella and fruit! They have other great food options, too if you make it there after breakfast.

3 – Dapper Dans – the Dapper Dans are a musical quartet that performs for guests on Main Street, U.S.A. We love when we are able to see them perform, even if it is just for a few minutes. You can always find out when they will be performing by consulting a Times Guide when you enter the park. We also enjoy their matching outfits!

2 – Storybook Treats – this ice cream counter-service restaurant located in Fantasyland serves up some delicious soft-serve sundaes – on a recent trip, we had to decide between a delicious hot fudge sundae or a strawberry sundae! The only thing that we wish they had in addition to the soft-serve was some more toppings!

1 – Enchanted Tales with Belle – this interactive experience in Fantasyland lets guests meet with Belle, but also is a very unique attraction. Very small groups of people will be escorted into the attraction and some will participate in helping Belle tell a story. Those who are selected have the ability to take a photo with Belle at the end. You definitely need to try it out!

The Magic Kingdom has a lot to see and do so it is easy to miss some things. On your next trip, try one of these experiences! You’ll be glad that you did!
