Epcot is one of the most fascinating parks on Walt Disney World Property. Its futuristic qualities infused with a world showcase that immerses guests into eleven different countries is truly unlike any other theme park in the world. One of the most wonderful things about learning about a different countries culture is their cuisine, of course. There are several restaurants within each of the eleven countries in the world showcase, so you can’t go wrong no matter what you feel like trying. There are, however, a few restaurants that offer a truly delectable and unforgettable experience, and if you have the time, should try it out on your next visit. Here are 6 restaurants you can’t miss in the world showcase at Epcot.

6. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

If you’re looking for an amazing character dining experience, look no further than Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, located in Norway. This restaurant makes you feel like you are dining in a medieval castle with its beautiful cathedral architecture and wood décor. Akershus, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offers princess storybook dining with characters from the classic princess fairytales we all love like Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel, and Mary Poppins. This restaurant offers classic American food and top of the line Norwegian and Scandanavian cuts of meat and seafood, like the breakfast smorgasbord and imported sliced beef. American style entrée options include a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, and sausage, and lunch and dinner options like oven roasted chicken and turkey breast platters, club sandwiches. There are also assortments of Norwegian style desserts that are to die for. Being able to meet and greet the princesses while dining like royalty really make the experience quite magical. 5. Teppan Edo

Kon’nichiwa! It’s time to head on over to Teppan Edo located in Japan. This restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, is a truly amazing experience that infuses the Japanese culture in its cuisine and atmosphere. The décor is whimsical and has a beautiful Japanese flare with it’s color blocking walls and furniture. This restaurant offers a quaint little sit down area if you just want to grab a sushi roll, but the main dining room is hibachi style, with a large stir-fry grille at each table. That’s right, there is a chef at every single in the restaurant preparing authentic Japanese cuisine right in front of you! This is a really exciting and fun experience for children and adults because the chefs include various tricks with the food they are cooking with and infuse comedy while they’re preparing your meal. There are a plethora of combinations and options to choose from including sushi rolls, seafood, steak, vegetables, and chicken entrees, tempura, and edamame just to name a few. These entrees include a good-sized portion of food, so it’s nice to be able to have a full meal at a decent cost. If you are sitting in the table area by the front of the restaurant during the evening, you will be able to view the Illuminations fireworks while you dine. I personally love how the cast members here show the upmost respect with guests as they bow and make you feel so welcome. It’s so nice to see how respected everyone is in this country. 4. Chefs de France

If you’re looking for a classic experience, head on over to France, where you will find Chefs de France, one of the best restaurants in Epcot. Chefs de France offers stunning views of the park and France pavillion with its window filled dining room and old world elegant setting and décor. The authentic French food here is fresh, delicious, and truly gourmet in every way. Enjoy lunch or dinner entrees such as escargot, French onion soup, charcuterie, croquet monsieur, crepe a la tartiflette, quiche Lorraine, filet de saumon, beef short ribs, and my personal favorite, gruyere macaroni and cheese, to name a few. Make sure to make room for dessert because the crème brulee is beyond amazing. 3. La Hacienda de San Angel

Ole! Mexican food is a favorite amongst many around the world, and you can find some authentic Mexican flavors in the Mexico pavilion. Le Hacienda de San Angel is one of the best restaurants to chow down (for dinner only) on some delicious tacos, fresh guacamole, carnitas yucatecas, queso fundidio, and many more tasty options. While this restaurant has delicious food, its décor is stunning and worth the visit itself. Beautiful star lanterns are hung against stunning ceiling tiles and deep brown wood rafters to create a hacienda atmosphere. There are also spacious windows all along the restaurant that offer views of the world showcase lagoon, which is perfect if you want to dine during the nightly firework show. La Hacienda de San Angel syncs the music that is played throughout the park for guests during the firework show inside the restaurant, so you won’t miss a thing while you dine and have VIP seating for the show. Chinese culture is very intriguing. I think we can all agree that its cuisine and art is exquisite, and Nine Dragons is a great way to experience both of these things. Located in the China pavilion in the world showcase, Nine Dragons offers a beautifully themed atmosphere with dark lacquered contemporary wood screens and classic Chinese lion statues and glasswork. The atmosphere is vibrant and colorful, especially with the dragons etched in glass and the ceilings. This restaurant also offers stunning views of the world showcase lagoon, also perfect for having dinner and watching the Illuminations show at the same time! There is nothing like having a fine dining experience, and having it at Disney makes it even more magical. Le Cellier is one of the most popular restaurants for luxurious ambiance that is fantastic for a date night or adult night out. Located in the Canada pavilion, Le Cellier is open for lunch and dinner and resembles a wine cellar nestled in a beautiful chateau. The warm lighting, stone archways, beamed ceilings, wooden furniture, and candle sconces give off a cozy feel and comfortable setting. This is a great way to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of a regular park dining experience. Not only is the atmosphere exquisite, the food is absolutely delicious.
