Disney World has a lot of options open to you when making a decision about where to stay. Guests can choose between three different levels of resorts: value, moderate, and deluxe. Guests have choices of various themes between all of the resorts, as well as a variety of room types. There is much to research and consider when making your choices, but here are six secrets that people don’t know about the Magic Kingdom resorts!

6 – Transportation Galore

the resorts that comprise the Magic Kingdom Resort Area (the Contemporary, the Polynesian Village, the Grand Floridian, the Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness) have a variety of transportation methods to transport guests to the parks. In addition to the buses that serve all the resorts, guests can also travel by a smaller ferry boat or Friendship Boat to the Magic Kingdom. Guests staying on the resort loop can also get to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot by using the Monorail! And if the lines are too long for those options, guests staying at the Contemporary have a short walk to the gates of the Magic Kingdom and Main Street, U.S.A.!

5 – Magic Kingdom Views

Guests who are willing to pay a little bit more can enjoy fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom and the nightly fireworks spectacular, Wishes! Theme park views can be enjoyed from the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian Village, and from the Contemporary. If you are watching the fireworks from the Contemporary, guests can even hear the soundtrack for Wishes through their televisions in their rooms to fully complete the experience!

4 – Bigger Rooms

The Contemporary and the Polynesian Village Resorts were built and opened in 1971 when Disney World opened. As a result, the rooms at these resorts are bigger than most other rooms at other resorts. This is both a reflection of how travel has changed in the 45 years since the resort opened, as well as a statement about the luxury of these resorts.

3 – Priority Access

It is rare, but at various times throughout the year, the Magic Kingdom can reach capacity (usually these times occur during the holiday season). When this happens, Disney has a procedure for determining which guests can enter the park. As a guest of a Magic Kingdom resort, you would receive priority over other guests who are staying off-property or locals who are choosing to visit for the day.
