6 Things to Consider in Determining Whether to Stay On or Off Property at Walt Disney World

5. Hotel/Parking Costs

While it certainly can be cheaper to stay off property at a non-Disney hotel, guests need to keep in mind that certain off-property hotels may charge a resort and parking fee that are in addition to the nightly rate, so you may end up paying close to the same amount that you may have paid on-property.  Additionally, if you are driving your own vehicle to the Disney parks and you are not a passholder, you will have to pay for parking – currently, the daily rate for parking at the four theme parks is $20 a day – over the course of a weeklong vacation, that is a $140 expense, plus whatever your hotel may be charging!
