7 Things We Love About the Garden Grill

Garden Grill

Epcot is home to a lot of great dining options. Almost all are located in the World Showcase. Hidden away in the Land Pavilion is an amazing restaurant for everyone in your party. There is so much to enjoy about this restaurant, but here is our list of the top seven things you will love about the Garden Grill!

7 – Locally-Sourced Food – the Garden Grill features a platter of food featuring turkey, beef, and fish. The fish selection varies, but is always a sustainable choice. Additionally, your platter comes with a selection of vegetables. These vegetables come from the gardens on-site and that are featured in the “Living with the Land” attraction.

6 – All-You-Care-To-Enjoy – the Garden Grill serves their food family style. The servers will continue to bring you food as long as you ask for it. You can even ask them just specifically for one item (I love the turkey, so I make sure they bring that). Also included in the price is salad, warm rolls with delicious butter, and homemade macaroni and cheese. You’ll definitely want to save room for dessert – a seasonal skillet with ice cream! Yum!!

5 – Character Dining – other than Akershus, this is the only character dining option available in Epcot. The Garden Grill feast is sponsored by Chip and Dale, but Farmer Mickey and Pluto also make an appearance. The restaurant seems very small, so you will get a lot of time with the characters. On my last few trips to the Garden Grill, the characters have been able to make multiple trips around the restaurant.

4 – It Rotates (Sometimes) – the Garden Grill is circular and generally rotates. This rotation allows you some extraordinary views into Living with the Land that are not available from any other vantage point. However, I have seen some recent postings on social media that it hasn’t been rotating. If it is rotating, be careful if you head off the bathroom – your seat is not going to be where you left it when you return!

3 – Hidden Mickeys – every time I have visited the Garden Grill, the host or hostess points out the mural where one of the hardest too find Hidden Mickeys is hidden. I tried on three separate trips to find this Hidden Mickey before breaking down and having to ask our server where it was hidden. It is always great to have some entertainment with your meal!

2 – Peace and Quiet – since the restaurant is circular and faces the “second floor” of Living with the Land, it is quiet. It is a great place to get out of the sun and heat to cool off, have some great food, and re-charge. You also are not surrounded by a lot of other people eating because of the layout and size of the restaurant allowing you to enjoy your meal. My fianceé and I enjoyed a nice, quiet, and romantic meal here on our first trip.

1 – Selection of Adult Beverages – Garden Grill does have a wonderful selection of beer, including craft and seasonal selections. Additionally, Garden Grill has a relatively expansive wine list that is worth exploring!

Garden Grill is generally a relatively easy advance dining reservation to snag up. Even if you have been before, try it again! The rotating selection of fish and vegetables help vary the menu and the novelty of the restaurant is never lost on me! What do you love most of the Garden Grill?
