8 Experiences that Have Been Losing Popularity At Disney World

Let’s face it, there are a few attractions that people just don’t believe are worth their time. They walk right by them and don’t ever add them into their plans. Their popularity is diminishing, and it’s obvious to see. I’m not here to join the crowd and rag on these rides and attractions. No, instead I’m here to make you feel otherwise. Here are 8 experiences at Disney that have been losing popularity and 8 reasons why you should give them a second chance!

8. Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom)

This ride is located near the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover in Tomorrowland. Basically what it does is takes you up in the air in a rocket and spins you around and around…. and around. For most adults, this does not necessarily scream fun. But this ride is great for kids and teens who want some more thrill and less cute.

7. Gran Fiesta Tour (Epcot)

In my opinion this attraction is incredibly underrated. It’s located just inside the Mexico Pavilion marketplace and never has a long wait. Like ever. It’s a cute and simple boat ride that follows Donald Duck on his crazy adventures in Mexico. It’s great for all ages, but can be boring for teens and older children. But it also offers a nice, cool air-conditioned place to sit!

6. The Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom)

Kids usually hate this attraction. It doesn’t move, there aren’t any fun, catchy songs, just animatronic figured made to resemble past and present presidents. But I, as well as many other adults, find this show extremely interesting. Plus, it’s a great learning experience for kids! Make sure to quiz them afterwards!

5. The American Adventure (Epcot)

Just like The Hall of Presidents, The American Adventure has the same concept. Highlighting all the important parts of our country’s great history, this is another wonderful learning experience. And once again, it’s a nice place to sit and relax and cool off for a few!

4. Liberty Square Riverboat (Magic Kingdom)

This attraction isn’t necessarily losing popularity, it just seems to be quite overlooked. Guests seem to skip this one, especially in summer months, when it tends to be very hot. But when you do take the time to appreciate this attraction, I guarantee you’ll love it. Just make sure you ride it during cooler months!

3. Stitch’s Great Escape (Magic Kingdom)

Ok… We don’t really have an excuse for this one. This attraction, located in Tomorrowland, will never be popular. I suppose if you are looking for a cool, air-conditioned place with a quick line, this would work. Or if you are an extreme Lilo and Stitch fan, you might appreciate this more than others.

2. Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom)

Also located in Tomorrowland, this attraction is extremely underrated and overlooked. It sends you into the past, and future, all in a revolving theater. It’s a delightful little show, with a very catchy song. Involving only animatronic figures. Impressive!

1. The Great Movie Ride (Hollywood Studios)

I’m not really sure why this attraction is losing popularity, actually. I enjoy it every time I ride. But rumor has it; it may be removed eventually, or completely updated. Small updates have already begun taking place and guests don’t seem to mind. Either way, it’s a great attraction for movie lovers everywhere!

Just like Walt Disney said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” So even though some beloved attractions may be replaced or changed, we know that, just like Disneyland, Disney World is a work in progress. But don’t overlook all the wonderful attractions that are here now!
