Disney Cruises are always something special for children–but what about the adults? At Destination D23 today, it was announced that Disney Cruise Line's newest ship the Disney Wish will have a very specific focus on adults' Disney magic too. As one Cast Member said, “it is so important that we provide spaces for adult Guests on the Disney Wish to be able to relax, unwind, [and] escape while still being in our Disney stories.” The Disney Wish designers' goal was to “melt [adult Guests'] hearts” by magically transporting them “into a story, into a place, and into an experience” in true Disney style, but keep the trip “elevated” in an elegant, mature way.
One highlight onboard the Disney Wish will be ‘Untangled', the ‘Tangled' and Rapunzel-inspired hair salon that will feature Tangled's signature pastel color scheme. “What's so special about the Untangled salon is [that] it's inspired by our favorite hair character, Rapunzel, but you'll also be taken into this higher-level experience that is really created just for adult Guests,” one Cast Member said. There will also be a Captain Hook-themed barbershop, and when it comes to the ship's spa, it is apparently “much larger”, and “everything is themed around the serene [and] nature”. There's also a unique “outdoor rainforest area”, which will be a “beautiful space” for adults to relax.
Another highlight for adults will be the “premium dining district”, which takes its inspiration from ‘Beauty and the Beast'. This area, which includes the Rose bar for cocktails and a refined Cogsworth-inspired steakhouse, is full of Belle and ‘Beauty and the Beast' detailing. This entire dining district is meant to provide “quality time” for adults, and create “adult-only dining opportunities for people, not just parents, who want to just be around other adults in a really really beautiful environment with gourmet food”. The icing on the expensive cake is the “opulent” Enchante, the Disney Wish's high-end French-inspired restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef and lots of Lumiere touches.
