Fans Mourn Permanent Loss of Disney Staple

There are many discussions among Disney fans when it comes to the future of the Walt Disney Company and the recent decisions or announcements that Disney has made. Disney fans are often divided in their opinions, and one surprisingly upsetting announcement about a signature Disney skincare line has gotten fans into a debate once again!

For most people, the soap and bath products (such as shampoo, body lotion, and conditioner) in a hotel room are complimentary little treats. They are usually travel-sized, and often low-quality. However, Disney’s longstanding partnership with H20+, a “clean” skincare brand, had resulted in some bath products for Disney Resorts and Disney cruise ships that Disney Guests actually looked forward to using.

So now that H20+ is closing permanently, and shopDisney is selling off the last of the H20+ skincare products, Disney fans have a lot to say on the matter!

In one Reddit discussion, a Reddit user proposed the idea that “the H2O+ soap situation at Disney World is an interesting litmus test on how the Parks and Resorts will be run moving forward”.

“Soap is the great equalizer at Walt Disney World,” the person added, pointing out that “if you are staying in a Resort room at Disney World and using the provided in-room soap, you will get the same results no matter if you are in the radical 80’s building at Pop Century to [sic] the Victorian hallways of the Grand Floridian”.

This particular Disney fan seems to be suggesting that the loss of a universally-offered bath product might lead to different skincare offerings for different Resorts — which would presumably increase the distance and highlight the disparity between Disney Guests of different income levels.

The Reddit user also pointed out the “nostalgic attachment” that many frequent Disney Guests have with the scent of products like the H2O+ Sea Salt Body Wash — and several other Disney fans agreed, openly mourning the loss of H20+ since they had associated it with their Disney vacations over the years.

One fan pointed out the signature Disney magic that may be found in a nostalgic discussion about the Disney collection of H20+ products and the loss of H20+ overall (which was a skincare brand that received rave reviews from sites like The Zoe Report, Bustle, and Allure).

“Only for Disney World would there be a multi-paragraph write-up on the nostalgic attachment of soaps and what it means for the Parks moving forward. And I love that,” the fan wrote. Do you have a “nostalgic attachment” to H20+ products?

Are you stocking up on these skincare products and bath products on shopDisney or Amazon before they are gone for good — or cutting ties now and switching to brands like this Disney star’s new skincare brand?
