On October 28, 2023, millions of fans around the world were shocked and devastated to learn that Friends star Matthew Perry had died at the age of 54. A 9-1-1 call was made from Perry's home when the actor was found unconscious in his hot tub.

Initial reports stated that there was no fentanyl or methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death. However, nearly two months later, the official toxicology reports confirmed that Perry died from the “acute effects” of ketamine. In addition to the ketamine, the autopsy report stated factors contributing to Perry's death were drowning, coronary artery disease, and the use of buprenorphine — a drug used to help those battling opioid addiction.

The Mr. Sunshine star had been using Ketamine under a doctor's guidance for therapeutic purposes, but the amount found in his system indicated that he was using it in an unsupervised manner as well.
Now, seven months after Perry's tragic passing, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration have announced a joint criminal investigation into his death.

In an email sent to Entertainment Weekly, LAPD Captain Scott Williams confirmed the investigation:
“On October 29, 2023, an autopsy of Mr. Perry was performed by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. On December 15, 2023, the results of the autopsy indicated that Mr. Perry died from the ‘acute effects of ketamine. Based on the Medical Examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department, with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Perry’s death.”
The goal of the investigation is to find out how Perry got his hands on such a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic. Ketamine can only be given under the supervision of a doctor, so it appears that Perry may have gotten it by illegal means.

It sounds like he was mailed the ketamine from whoever was provider his therapy sessions and they mail 6 tabs at a time for 1 per session and they’re not physically with you during them, only provide support via Zoom if you need it. Im guessing he may have took more than one himself like an addict may do in that case but this is how these places operate. It’s no different than getting any other opiate prescribed and taking it home. I had 6 at-home ketamine session with a company called “Mindbloom” which was great but needs to be taken responsibley.
He was looking into some actors with bad behaviors, like pedophiles and he was going to expose them, and that’s why he is gone. I hope the investigation proves that.
Ketamine is a rave drug and goes hand in hand with Ecstasy. The amount he was taking must have come from a dealer. His addict tendencies caused him to use it recreationally and his therapy was just an excuse to obtain more. Using any mind altering drug in excess, in water, alone, is reckless. It’s a shame. His final moments must have been confusing and terrifying.
They are investigating his death because they probably want to figure out how to get America hooked on that next. If it were you or I, no one would investigate. This is not about Perry. Its about our government making drugs readily available on the streets. If we got some balls and took our country back no one would be homeless, no one would be hungry and no one would hate us. Evict dual citizens out of our government NOW!!!!
Absolutely it should be investigated as all drug overdoses of illegal narcotics should be investigated
There will always be black market drugs period.
Unfortunately he had and addction and had the financial means to obtain the drug both legally and illegally.
His problem was not be truthful with himself in his recovery program. Many people relapse after many years of clean time to then go on an overdose.
His weight and cigarette smoking did not make his cardiovascular disease any easier to treat. I hope he is finally at peace.
The person responsible for Matthew Perry’s death is Matthew Perry.
Leave Mathew alone u just want to pin a murder on someone
I hope they find out what happened to Mathew Perry and may he rest in peace
