More than two years after a section of a storefront collapsed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World Resort has finally begun repairs on the long-damaged structure. The Keystone Clothiers building on Hollywood Boulevard has been in disrepair since 2022, but recent construction updates suggest Disney is finally addressing the issue.
Accident at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

In September 2022, guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios were shocked to see part of the Keystone Clothiers facade, including a doorway and sign, had collapsed. X (formerly Twitter) user @ozborn82 shared this photo of the damage:

Disney cast members quickly blocked off the area and prevented guests from approaching, later installing construction walls around the damaged site. However, despite these initial steps, no significant repairs occurred for over a year.
Social media users quickly picked up on the neglected state of the storefront, with some calling the lack of repairs a “Six Flags” style fix when green plywood was installed over the damage in late 2023. The temporary patch remained for months, leading to frustration among Disney Parks fans.
Construction Finally Underway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Now, after more than two years, Disney has begun the long-awaited repair work. Last month, new construction walls appeared around Keystone Clothiers, sparking speculation that Disney was finally addressing the structural damage.
On Tuesday, WDWNT reported that a brown scrim now conceals the former location of the Keystone Clothiers sign, indicating that work is actively taking place. The green plywood that once framed the doorway has been removed, and both windows beside the entryway are also covered with scrim material. While Walt Disney World Resort has yet to comment on the project, these changes suggest a complete restoration is finally underway.
A Pattern of Delayed Repairs?

Keystone Clothiers’ drawn-out repair timeline isn’t the only instance of long-overdue maintenance at Disney Parks. Over at EPCOT, construction walls recently reappeared in the Canada Pavilion, where a mystery project has been underway for at least two years. The store in the blocked-off building hasn’t been open since the early 2000s, and Disney has yet to reveal what the refurbishment entails.
Keystone Clothiers Remains Open

Despite the exterior construction, Keystone Clothiers remains open for guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The store, located along Hollywood Boulevard, continues to offer a variety of Disney merchandise, including apparel inspired by Star Wars and Marvel Studios. Visitors can still shop inside, using alternate entrances to bypass the blocked-off area.
It’s unclear how long the repairs will take.
