It’s not every day that Disney hands out citations at its theme parks! Disneyland Resort is taking a unique approach to its 70th anniversary celebrations by issuing “written warnings” to park visitors — but before you start worrying about penalties, these aren’t the kind of citations you might think.
On July 17, 2025, thousands gathered to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Disneyland Resort. Though festivities for Disneyland70 had begun earlier in the year, the park’s actual birthday brought additional surprises. That day, the final verse of the “it’s a small world” theme song, written by Richard Sherman, debuted on the ride, and “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” premiered at the Main Street Opera House. This tribute show features an audio-animatronic Walt Disney, the man behind Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland70 guests also have the chance to try new interactive experiences around the park, one of which leaves many with a memorable souvenir: a traffic ticket.
Five themed MagicBand+ activations are scattered throughout Disneyland Park, letting guests scan their wristbands at interactive, Disneyland70-themed stations. However, one location near Autopia in Tomorrowland took an unusual turn.

The Autopia MagicBand+ station looks like a traffic light, and when guests tap their MagicBand+ on the terminal, something unexpected happens: a speeding ticket pops out. @ThemeParkIQ shared a video of the experience on X (formerly Twitter):

This novelty item features an array of Easter eggs for fans to discover. For example, the citation number, “71755,” references the original opening day of Disneyland Park, and the issuer is the “Tomorrowland Transit Authority,” a nod to the now-defunct PeopleMover attraction. The ticket cites the “Valued Magic Key Holder” for speeding, with a humorous warning that future infractions could eventually “result in loss of license” to drive on Autopia!

The addition of this ticket has created some lines at the Autopia MagicBand+ station. In fact, @ThemeParkIQ shared a video showing a long queue forming for the chance to collect the unexpected keepsake. It’s the type of thing you’d expect to see only at the Happiest Place on Earth — crowds of people lining up to willingly accept a “violation.”

If you haven’t had a chance to experience Disneyland70 yet, there’s still plenty to look forward to, as celebrations will continue through the summer of 2026.
