Disney World has officially brought back its fan-favorite diving demonstrations to EPCOT’s The Seas pavilion, allowing guests to watch one of the resort’s most unique live events. EPCOT’s lockout diving showcases were a staple of The Seas for years, but they never returned after the closure of Walt Disney World in 2020.
Prior to the pandemic, these demonstrations took place every 30 minutes in SeaBase Alpha, offering exciting insights into marine life and the skills of the divers, along with the opportunity for guests to ask questions.
The announcement of their return has sparked a wave of excitement among fans and park attendees alike. Demonstrations officially resumed today, July 22, 2025.

A standout feature of EPCOT, The Seas boasts an impressive 5.7 million-gallon aquarium that houses a diverse array of marine life. More than 8,500 sea creatures call this habitat home, from colorful small fish darting around the vibrant corals to majestic manatees gliding gracefully through the water. This immense aquarium provides an educational yet awe-inspiring backdrop that elevates the overall Disney experience for guests.
The Seas also incorporates interactive experiences like the ride inspired by Pixar’s Finding Nemo, known as The Seas with Nemo & Friends. This attraction cleverly blends animated characters with real aquatic life, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the story as they float past various exhibits featuring live animals. It is this integration of themed entertainment with genuine marine experiences that distinguishes EPCOT from other amusement parks and highlights the park’s dedication to conservation and education.
Alongside the return of the diving demonstrations, EPCOT has seen the reopening of another beloved attraction, Test Track. The popular thrill ride underwent extensive renovations and closed in 2024. Originally opening in 1999, Test Track has undergone changes in the past, with this latest renovation aiming to refresh the ride and enhance the experience for returning visitors.
The revamped version features new music, updated scenes, and an engaging story that provides a fresh take on the high-speed ride while maintaining the thrill factor that fans adore. This overhaul contributes to the overall rejuvenation of EPCOT, inviting both loyal visitors and newcomers to explore all that the park has to offer. As the park continues to reintroduce its attractions, it builds on an excitement that resonates with guests of all ages.
With the return of the diver demonstrations and other attractions, EPCOT is not only working to restore the magic that was temporarily lost but also adapting to a post-pandemic world that values shared experiences. The combination of mesmerizing aquatic displays, educational programs, and thrilling rides ensures that there is something for everyone at Disney World, promising unforgettable memories that accompany visitors long after their trip concludes.
