Is Bluey in Trouble? Fans are Starting to Lose Hope for 2025

In December 2024, Disney announced that the beloved animated series Bluey would be coming to Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Cruise Line in 2025. Fans of the show were immediately excited by the promise of “special activations” featuring Bluey and her sister Bingo, including meet-and-greets, interactive games, and dance parties. However, the months that have followed have been filled with silence from Disney, leaving many to question whether the project has been quietly abandoned.

An Unfortunate Reality

“Bluey has become a household name for families around the world and we are thrilled to bring her story to life in new ways. We can’t wait to watch our youngest guests and their families make memories with Bluey in our parks and on our cruises,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, when the announcement was made. Despite this enthusiastic statement, no further details have emerged regarding the planned park experiences, leaving fans anxiously awaiting updates.

The absence of information has sparked growing concerns among the Bluey fan community, with many expressing their frustrations online. On Reddit, fans voiced their disappointment with the lack of progress, with one user stating, “I genuinely thought we’d see Bluey and Bingo as part of Cool Kid Summer. Especially after the media freebies used Bluey so much. But the best we seem to have is at ‘Get Animated!' with the song occasionally being played and that little fan they give out at the art table outside.” These comments reflect a sense of uncertainty, with fans feeling that the highly anticipated additions may have been delayed or even scrapped altogether.

Why This Choice?

The lack of updates also raises questions about the timing of Bluey‘s arrival at Disney parks. Universal Orlando's Epic Universe is set to open in May 2025, and many have speculated that Disney is deliberately pacing its announcements to avoid competing for attention with its rival. This strategy, however, has unintentionally contributed to the growing anxiety surrounding the Bluey integration, leaving fans wondering if the delay is part of a broader strategy or if the project has been sidelined for other reasons.

Despite the growing concerns, the initial excitement around the Bluey collaboration is still fresh. The show has garnered significant global acclaim, even being named the most-watched series on Disney+ in 2024. Given the widespread popularity of the series, Bluey has the potential to become a major attraction for families visiting Disney parks and cruises. Yet, without further details, it’s unclear how the experience will unfold.

In addition to the park activations, Disney's partnership with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios includes plans for a Bluey theatrical film, set for release in 2027. This film may further elevate the character’s presence across Disney properties, but for now, fans are left wondering when, or if, they will get to meet Bluey and Bingo in the parks.

In conclusion, while the December 2024 announcement about Bluey joining Disney parks and cruises initially sparked excitement, the lack of follow-up details has left fans with more questions than answers. With the anticipated launch window drawing nearer, the silence from Disney is only intensifying concerns. Fans are eager for clarity about the project's timeline and scope, hoping for confirmation that their favorite animated characters will soon be joining the magic at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
