The Worst Days to Visit Magic Kingdom This Fall—All 39 Revealed

Imagine walking down Main Street with a churro in hand, ready to end your Disney day with fireworks and late-night rides—only to be told you’ve got to leave at 6 p.m. Sound like a nightmare? This fall, it’s a reality for many unsuspecting guests.

Magic Kingdom’s fall calendar is packed. Not with your average daily fun—but with closures. In total, the park is set to shut down early on 39 different nights between August and October. That’s a lot of guests missing out if they don’t pay attention to the fine print.

Why So Many Early Closures?

The answer is Halloween. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back and more popular than ever. On party nights, the park closes early for regular visitors and reopens only to guests with special event tickets. The party includes exclusive entertainment like themed fireworks, spooky ride overlays, and all the candy trails you can handle.

But unless you’ve purchased a ticket to the event, your day ends well before sunset. That also means no Disney Starlight Parade and limited access to nighttime rides.

And that 39th night? That’s because of a private event happening during the Gartner IT Symposium. One of the nights between October 20–22 will be blocked off entirely for corporate guests.

Here’s the Full Breakdown of Dates to Watch Out For:

  • August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29

  • September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30

  • October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31

  • Corporate Night: One of Oct. 20, 21, or 22 (TBD)

That’s 39 nights where you’ll miss out on evening fun if you don’t plan ahead.

Magic Kingdom is usually the top priority for first-time visitors—and one of the most expensive parks to visit when you factor in Lightning Lane and other add-ons. You deserve the full day. Not one that ends with a surprise eviction.

So before you get your heart set on a fall date, take a second look at the calendar. Those 39 nights are magical for partygoers—but frustrating for everyone else.
