‘James Bond’ Reboot Gets New Trailer, Plus 20 Minutes Revealed!

James Bond fans are about to have their patience rewarded in more ways than one. The race to find the next cinematic 007 actor may be dominating headlines, but in the meantime, IO Interactive is preparing to hand gamers the license to kill.

The studio’s upcoming title, “007 First Light”, just scored a brand-new trailer during Sony’s State of Play event, and the latest preview finally pulls back the curtain on gameplay.

What’s on display looks like a slick blend of espionage and chaos: rooftop chases, covert infiltrations, high-tech gadgets, and just enough gunfire to remind everyone that Bond can outshoot as well as outwit. Watch the new gameplay trailer below:

Unlike the film franchise, which is still searching for its next leading man following Daniel Craig’s exit in No Time to Die (2021), the game has already locked in its star.

Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) has been cast as a younger Bond in an origin story that traces his road to earning the iconic double-0 status.

MI6 cornerstones like M, Moneypenny, and Q have also been reshaped (and recast), while Bond’s main opposition comes in the form of a fellow 00 agent gone rogue.

The announcement has naturally reignited comparisons to 1997's “GoldenEye”, a game that has lived in Bond fan lore since its Nintendo 64 heyday.

It’s a daunting shadow to escape, but if IO can channel even a fraction of what made their “Hitman” such a compelling series, “First Light” could establish itself as Bond’s definitive gaming chapter.

Fans hoping for a more in-depth look at the game can now also check out 20 minutes of gameplay walkthrough in another official reveal from IO Interactive.

“007 First Light” will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and Nintendo’s Switch 2 on March 27, 2026. Between the promise of a new film and this long-awaited gaming return, James Bond’s next era is shaping up to be bigger, bolder, and far more interactive.
