Here’s the Latest Problem With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – And Disney Isn’t Fixing It

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is still in its first year at Disneyland Resort, but it’s already giving Disney Parks fans reasons to worry. Guests have reported ongoing issues with the attraction’s high-tech audio-animatronics, and one of its most prominent figures has reportedly been standing still for days.

The Princess and the Frog (2009)-themed log flume ride officially opened at Disneyland Park in November 2024, just a few months after its debut at Magic Kingdom Park. Disney Parks fans had high expectations for the reimagined version of Splash Mountain, which promised cutting-edge animatronics and immersive storytelling.

At Walt Disney World Resort, the ride hit some early snags, with several Disney cast member and Annual Passholder previews being canceled at the last minute due to technical problems. While Disneyland Resort’s version initially fared better, it hasn’t been immune to malfunctions.

On September 4, X (formerly Twitter) user @DisneyScoopGuy shared a clip of the first Princess Tiana figure on the ride at Disneyland Park, completely motionless. This animatronic is meant to welcome guests to the bayou at the start of the attraction, but it hasn’t moved for days.

The first Tiana in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been frozen for a few days now. It’s been months since an animatronic stopped working completely for multiple days and I’m wondering if it’s a heat issue.

According to the guest report, this particular animatronic has been frozen for several days in a row. They speculated that high temperatures might be behind the problem, though nothing has been confirmed.

At this point, it’s unclear whether Disneyland Resort has repaired the figure or whether it remains broken. Disney typically does not issue public statements about minor attraction issues, and this situation is no different. Guests simply have to wait and see if Princess Tiana returns to her role in the coming days.
